I'm a product designer. I graduated from Brunel University after studying BSc Product Design Engineering and have since worked in architectural/construction design and freelance CAD modelling. My particular interests in design are human-centred design solutions, design thinking for innovation, sustainable design and rapid prototyping. Rapid prototyping in particular is a passion of mine as I have constructed several desktop printers and continue to use and upgrade my printers. My name is Adam and I run a 2D & 3D CAD design office, Randall Designs. We specialise in architectural metalwork within the construction and engineering industry, (‘we do however take on many other projects with great results’). We're located in the south of the UK, Wimborne minster, Dorset and can work remotely, offering vast years of knowledge and highly skilled with two seats of Licensed Solidworks 2017 3D CAD Software. We can assist with 2D or 3D models, creating full detailed drawings and create packages to suit. We’re office based but I like to point out we carry out site survey’s on most of our projects and soon to be introducing 3D laser scanned survey’s known as ‘point cloud files’, simply improves accuracies’ and help reducing human errors, saving money for our clients and speeding up projects without cutting corners. We charge an hourly rate, however, tend to price per item and able to create highly detailed, accurate work to our client’s requirements and always happy to quote. I have a passion for solving complex design problems-- always aiming to achieve efficiency, aesthetic appeal, and design optimization in my work. I currently work as a Design Engineer, where my job requires me to run through the design conceptualization process, moving conceptual work into a 3D CAD model (typically using Inventor, AutoCAD 3D, or Rhino), and finally sending manufacturing/fabrication drawings (2D drawings and design manuals) off to either the in-house or third party fabrication parties. I have worked in the engineering industry since 2012, primarily with sheet metal. I have a lot of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings. I currently work as a CAD designer, making 3D models for the sheet metal industry, for cutting, folding and fabrication patterns. In my spare time I use my experience reading drawings to make 3D designs of mechanical parts, sheet metal components, 3D prototyping, designs with plastic, steel constructions (frame working etc.), timber constructions (stair casing, decking etc.) amongst other things.
