Mechanical engineer who has been working in the automation industry for the last 5 years. My design work has a concentration in complex highly integrated machinery. I have design everything from razor packaging assembly machines to chemical lab solution robots. My machine design experience has given a deep knowledge of sheet metal design and plastic part (molded/machined/3D printed) design. As a senior engineer I have taken projects from concept to production level completion. Almost all of my past work projects have been designed for manufacturing as they were mostly part of new product lines or retrofits for existing product lines. A benefit of working on conceptual projects as well has given me an expansive knowledge of prototyping as well.

Senior Staff Engineer RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company Aug 2012 - Present Designing and engineering various products and packages in an R&D environment. Mechanical Design Engineer Hayward Industries May 2010 - Aug 2012 Used SolidWorks to create complex injection molded parts and assemblies. Also generated multi-part blow molded components for Swimming Pool Equipment. Mechanical Design Engineer TIMCO Apr 2008 - May 2010 Used SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create multifaceted sheet metal and plastic parts and complex assemblies and drawings for commercial airliners. Designer TTI / Ryobi Jun 2007 - Apr 2008 Used Unigraphics NX4 to created elaborate injection molded parts and assemblies. Also created die castings for outdoor power equipment motors as well as produced wire routings and schematics. Mechanical Design Engineer B/E Aerospace May 2006 - Jun 2007 May 2006 to June 2007: Mechanical Design Engineer, B/E Aerospace, Winston-Salem, NC. Responsible for many design tasks utilizing Unigraphics NX2 ranging from wire routing to vacuum formed plastic design to sheet metal design. Senior Designer Zimmer Inc. Jun 2001 - Apr 2006 Used Unigraphics V16 thru NX2 to perform an extensive range of Orthopaedic Designs. Created intricate anatomically-correct injection molds of human bone by utilizing free form surface modeling. Was the sole designer in the group and therefore worked on all design aspects of our project that ranged from the afore-mentioned intricate molds to the conceptual design and creation of cutting edge Orthopaedic instrumentation. Aerospace Engineer Bell Helicopter Textron Oct 1999 - Jun 2001 Responsible for creating standard parts for various groups throughout the company using CATIA and Unigraphics V15, maintained BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy for various aircraft assemblies, worked with Canadian partners to create a database that would allow smooth work flow between the two companies, and performed many other support tasks. Aerospace Engineer The Aerostructures Corporation May 1998 - Oct 1999 Designed wing components for an Airbus aircraft using CATIA. Assigned as the company’s only offsite liaison to its main vendor. In charge of overseeing a smooth work flow between the two companies during the design and construction phases of the BA609 aircraft.
