This mechanism applies a proprietary coating to the card by passing it between heated rollers under pressure. The coating is on a carrier web with a release liner that is stripped off just before the coating meets the card in the track. Various photoelectric sensors are used to see the card and flags within the mechanism. Once the sticky coating is applied, the card is transported into a curing chamber using compliant grit rollers on the edge of the card. The high power UV light uses a special Pulsed Width Modulator to boost the power to 30kV to provide a bright enough light to cure the coating at speed. I developed this module with a PE and was the sole designer on the project from start to finish.
