Golf courses struggle to maintain their courses at reasonable costs due to the amount of labour required for upkeep and there is potential danger for human workers who must work during the day at most courses. This problem can be solved by autonomous rovers which can work high hours at much lower costs to human labour, and can work overnight without an issue.
This design shows a fertiliser rover which can detect rough patches of grass and evenly spray fertiliser pellets over the patch. Its bright colours make it easy to spot and avoid.
The transparent model shows the inner mechanical design, which includes a rotary valve for gradual dispensing of pellets, and drive mechanisms (gearbox, belts and wheel axes/steering).
