Artifact per NAS979 spec. "Circle Diamond Square +"
Concept designed around CDS but with added 5 axis machining.
Used to inspect machine motion capability and accuracy.

  • 3 axis cuts - circle, diamond, square, XZ ramp, YZ ramp.
  • 5 axis cuts - centerline cone, drill locations on 30º increments
    Artifact is to be machined from 1.5" x 4.0" x 5.0" Aluminum.
    Secured in a fixture designed to fit on various machining centers with or without ball lock mounting "see NAS979 Fixture"
