Radial engine

The radial engine is a reciprocating type of internal combustion engine configuration in which the cylinders "radiate" outward from a central crankcase like the spokes of a wheel. These types of internal combustion engines are used mainly in small airplanes, in which the cylinders are mounted in a circle around the crankshaft, sometimes in banks of two or more.
