V6 ENGINE

The rendered image above is of a V 6 Engine. I took this project for practice purpose and designed all the components in Solid Works before their assembly. I understood various features of the engine and also understood the contribution of each component in the smooth functioning of the engine. Several tolerances had to be considered while designing the components to compensate for the effect of the expansion of the metal. Mating of some components was mechanical like the belt wheel and belt, camshaft and rocker, rocker roll and the valve head etc. These combinations of different mechanisms and their role make this project a diverse one for understanding a wide concept of designing at a single place. This also edified that the design of any machine should look as good as it functions.
