Unique, yet Simple, Card Holder Tray (Children's Board Game)
in 3D Modeling Design held by Shahin (PF Shaggy)Discussion
Wow, thanks to everyone for their submissions so far. There are so many great designs! (feri saputra, thanks for the 2nd design with the cut-outs on all sides. Leve, thanks for the mold design. Thomson_Nguyen, that&;s an interesting design with the handle on the back. rahul sharma, your design is really interesting also, and very different!)
Also, thanks to all for the submissions that make it as inexpensive as possible to manufacture. Without a very inexpensive tray, I cannot have a game to sell.

REDA, thanks for your latest submission ! I really like it because the handles/design are functional and tie into the "crazy" theme... and because the dividers and tray looks thinner/lighter. That style/direction of tray design is really neat.
Buyer
I just took a look. Thanks for that input... much appreciated!

It will probably be negligible. Can&;t really go much less longer. If you look at the bottom of mine, there already a small gap inbetween the outermost card holder and the outside wall. Can go muh less longer or it will not maintain the uniform wall thickness.
Buyer
I just updated my contest info, and thought I&;d list it here also... the spec I gave for the tray size was the Maximum. (As long as the cards fit properly, the size can be smaller than that. So for example, it doesn&;t have to be the full 170mm across.) Maybe that saves on manufacturing cost and lowers the shipping weight by a little? Not sure... but was thinking of that a little.
Buyer
I actually found and downloaded 3D-Tool. And it provides measurements. Thanks very much for the offer of the quick drawing, but I don&;t think it&;ll be necessary. :)
Designer
You can download a 3d viewer, (that is why I like step files, you are not tied down to a specific program viewer to look at it. I can also provide a quick drawing with overall dimensions.
Buyer
Another question that comes to mind is... how do I know the outside (overall) dimensions of the tray designs. I don&;t have any CAD software, and can&;t even open an STL file. Thanks for any ideas/tips on that...
Buyer
Thanks to all those who have participated so far! It&;s really amazing how you guys can create these. Quick question about the holes in some of the designs... what are they for? I don&;t have much experience in this, but I guess it could be... to release from the mold easier, or to use less material in manufacturing, or to make it lighter?
Buyer
Awesome, thx!

Resubmitted without the sticker ;)
Buyer
Thanks, I think it&;s great that way. Without the logo it&;ll probably just look like part of the design... and with it (when I can afford it), it&;ll look even better. For now if you can create a version (or resubmit) without the sticker, that would be perfect.
Designer
Yes there is an indention there for a sticker logo. I can remove it if you like. There was just a blank space there I felt would be good for a logo. Let me know what you need and I can resubmit.
Buyer
rprithvirajan, thanks very much for your two designs. Please note the required number of slots specified for the tray.
