Hi Jay Singh,
To be confirmed, what is mean by 5 clear plastic sheets snap together to make a box "without any tools"? Is screw accepted? Sorry but I just confuse by your description of without any tools.
Thanks

Thanks Joy, for your prompt reply.

Regarding AutoCAD I have cross checked, your said formats are possible. Regarding Solidworks I will check later.

At first, I like to prepare my idea in AutoCAD and then forward to you the same in pdf file format (at least) for your review. After getting your opinion on that, I will do the rest.

Please reply.

Rupak B - Autodesk is fine just provide me .stl, .stp etc.. and the autodesk file or if you can output as solidworks part or assembly even better.

Dear Jay Singh,

Are you only accepting Solidworks, or AutoCAD can also be OK for you?

Please Reply.

Hi, i &;m working on it :) asap i will update my design

@donis on your any idea on how we could increase the durability of the sheet as taped arylic sheet isn&;t going to last very long so I was thinking metal inserts but this is adding more processes and more cost. You need to understand this box is going to be dismantled how many times is uknown yet but it will be if we release an upgraded sheet.

Can&;t have a base or fixtures protrodruding needs be flush as possible like , however I think a combination of and will work.

@Jasser Ben Younes - So the &;box&; should be able to be six sided if required however five sides for now is fine. The most important thing is the fixture mechanism and it remaining sturdy. The thicker we go on each sheet the more cost the more heavier this box is going to be removed by the user when clening the box as the hamster has bedding they urinate and remove faeces of the hamster. At the same time remain somewhat water tight but really it doesnt need to be, as the bedding will absorb the urine.

Hey guys some good stuff butm you need to remember each side panel in the future might be upgraded what I mean but upgrades is different cut outs of addons - i.e. think of a hamster wheel joined to one side or wire mesh (ventilation or climbing frame).. thats one reason for it being modular the second thing is its cheap to deliver. I was thinking of using these http://www.bgbservices.co.uk/prod-p2.htm a cam system but not sure 100% if it would work on 6mm arylic or PC sheet. Please advise it needs to as easy as possible for a 12 year old girl to assembly and de-assemble with little chance of getting injured or slipping etc...

Dear jay,

does it necessarily have to be 5 sheets or can it be 5 plates of around 16mm ?

Thanks!

I have uploaded my project different views entry & . Use clipper to place the sheet at their own place.
They can easily be made from sheet metal.Base is also provided to make it sturdy.
Cheap and harmless.

@ Mohamad Nasser - trying to keep it as cost effective as possible remember the person who is assembling and de-assembling is girl (14-16) or older. 10% boys/men will be using this product but 90% women/young women.
I think @donis you got it but after repetitive assembly and desassembly wont the inner thread wear out so the only solution is to have a metal female thread glued this is going to take the part to at least 6mm thick, again if this is the cheapeast solution then so be it. I would like a combination of @donis and @Dwi l. however the bottom piece on Dwi protrudes have it so it&;s flush (using screws)

@JKF Engineering I need see it first provide image- .step is fine. but would like solidworks files.
Tue, 16 Feb 2016 20:56:25 +0000
Hi, I just have one question, do you need solidworks files or would a step-file be ok?
Tue, 16 Feb 2016 20:39:02 +0000
It has to be easily assembled and dismantled as a side might be replaced, as it may have cut out etc... No need for watertight but needs to be sturdy when fixed. I don&;t mind screews or various other fixtures but trying to reduce cost + screw or small parts can&;t fall out or off as they&;ll be eaten by the hamster/mouse

I think the best solution is to use special Acrylic cement to glue box. Box will be watertight. Does it must be assembled and dismantled? Can be used screws? You can assembly it with simple allen key

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ulDWfQK1pg - see the box the child is sliding in this is the box that needs to be flat pack, however as you can see nothing can be protruding out. Also nothing inside can be protruding as the box will be used for a hamster.
