Howdy
I have just joined this forum in the hope of finding ideas on how to use my new cad program.

14  years ago I was a project engineer at Honeywell. I used Autocad on a daily basis and was pretty good.

23 years ago I needed to design an electronic lock for a Casino in the Caribbean. The new company didn't want to pay for AutoCad. so after looking around abit I discovered DeltaCad. It was cheap and easy to use but only 2d. Still I have used it for years to draw a lot of things for my home projects. I used it to design power panels and network diagrams at Honeywell, for quick sketches Its great.

I am designing a portable motorized Gin Pole for my sail boat. I wanted to draw it three-dimensional so I acquired Progecad.  Its a good deal, not subscription based I drew this as part of the design process.

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have a wealth of experience with various CAD programs, and it's great to see you diving into 3D design with ProgeCAD for your portable motorized gin pole project. Here are my ideas on how to make the most of your new CAD program - 3D Modeling Techniques. Start with Basic Shapes: Begin by creating the main components of your gin pole using simple geometric shapes. This will help you visualize the structure and make adjustments easily.
Use Layers: Organize your design by using layers for different components (e.g., base, pole, motor). This will make it easier to manage and edit your model.
