I am a beginner and new at cad crowd. I Know some knowledge of 3D modelling in SolidWorks. I want to apply for Project (for example see attached image).
I have attached an image showing a box created around options. Could you please guide me on what to fill in the following options?
  1. What should be selected between "milestone" or "project" options?
  2. What should be filled in for the "milestone title" and "amount"?
  3. What should be written in the cover letter?
  4. What kind of files should be uploaded in the "upload files" section?
I am confused about these options, so please help.

Hi Ravi,

Here are basic answers to your questions below. Please refer to our help center for additional information. 1. Milestone vs Project:
  • Project: This is used when delivering the entire project in one go. If you’re confident that you can complete all the deliverables in a single submission, select this option.
  • Milestone: This option is for dividing a project into phases or steps. If the project is large and can be broken down into parts, use this to receive payment after completing each step. For beginners, it might be a good idea to select "Milestone" if you think the work is complex or if you're unsure about completing it all at once. It may also provide more security for large projects as you’ll receive payments for each portion of work done.
2. Milestone Title and Amount:
  • Milestone Title: Use descriptive titles for each milestone. For example, if you're designing a part in SolidWorks, the first milestone could be "Initial 3D Model Design," followed by other titles like "Design Refinement" or "Final Model Submission."
  • Amount: The amount should reflect the effort required for each milestone. A good practice is to negotiate a fair amount with the client based on the work involved at each stage. For example, the initial model might be priced lower than the final submission, depending on the complexity.
3. Cover Letter:
  • In the cover letter, briefly introduce yourself, highlight your experience with 3D modeling (especially in SolidWorks), and explain why you're a good fit for the project. Mention any relevant projects you’ve worked on, your understanding of the client’s requirements, and how you plan to approach the work. Keep it concise, professional, and focused on what makes you a good candidate for the job.
Thanks!
