In most cases, we recommend waiting for your client to close your job contract. The client releases pending milestone payments and leaves a review when your job contract ends.

How to close a contract
Steps to close hourly & fixed-rate job contracts:
- Go to My contracts
- Select the job contract
- Click the End contract button (or ••• dropdown)
- Choose End contract button
📡 Important: If you close a fixed-rate job contract, the task is canceled, and the escrow balance is refunded to the client automatically.
After a contract has closed
Steps after a job contract ends:
- Work journal: Your Work Journal is automatically frozen, and you can’t log additional hours to your timesheet
- Hours in progress: Your billable hours invoiced to the client at the end of the weekly billing period
- Review: Both parties can share a public review of the work experience
- Refund: You can refund a client for work invoices received over the past 6-months (if needed)
🛰️ Tip: You or your client can close a job contract at any time. We recommend that you speak with your client before you terminate your job contract. A conversation will help the client find alternative help (when needed) and to increase the likelihood that they will leave a positive review on your work profile.
