Design originality policy for contest entries

See the following design community rules for participating in design contests:

  • Do not copy other designers’ work while remembering that design similarity can sometimes occur by coincidence (especially in contests with well-defined design requirements).
  • Original work: Only submit design entries that are 100% original and unique.
  • AI-generated designs: Any parts of work that use AI (generative design) be cited for the client’s review and approval. All use of AI must be approved by clients.
  • Cite sources: Clearly describe/reference all non-original components, 3D blocks, or borrowed stock design components included with your design entry. This may include textures, background designs, pre-existing manufactured parts, or 3D objects (i.e., people, trees, etc.).
  • AI content: You must indicate to the client what part of your design (if any) was created by AI-assisted tools (i.e., Midjourney, etc.).

📡 Note: For more information, see the Policy for stock images, CAD blocks, 3D models, placeholders, textures, and licensed design content article and our community terms of service.
