Similar to how experts may feel frustrated when clients don’t reply promptly, potential clients can also become impatient if they don’t receive a timely response to job invites.
To help manage expectations, we display an indicator on your profile with your average response time. The response speed allows potential clients to adjust their expectations based on your work availability.
Your profile may show the following response time for job invites:
- Under 24 hours: You typically accept or decline most job invites within the first day.
- Under 3 days: You generally accept or decline most job invites within a few days.
- More than 3 days: You usually take at least several days to accept or reject job invites.
- Empty field: The response time field is blank if we need more information to determine your typical response speed.
We can only calculate and display this indicator once you receive enough job invites. The responsiveness indicator is hidden from your profile if you have not received many job invites lately.
📡 Remember: A way to showcase your professionalism is by promptly responding to job invites. Remember that replying to job invites can mean applying or declining the invitation (both are considered replies). If you want to avoid getting job invites, you can set your profile as private and change your profile visibility to publicly visible when you have more availability.
When a client sends a job invite and retracts it in under 24 hours, your response time will not affect your response time, regardless of whether you replied. Clients may cancel job invites due to job cancelation, hiring another expert, or if the job violated the terms of service.
