What happens if the client doesn’t pick a winner?

The client typically has 14-days to choose a winning entry for any prepaid contest. If the client doesn’t respond, we may choose a winning entry on the client’s behalf.

Notes about the holding period and payment duration:

  • Holding period: If we choose a winning contest entry (or entries) on the client’s behalf, a holding period of 65-180 days may apply depending on which online merchant processed the client’s payment. The holding period is to account for client credit card chargebacks that can be filed within this timeframe (see PayPal policies and Stripe chargeback).
  • Waived: This holding period may be waived if the client sends us an email confirming they’re happy with the design work.
