This specialized role requires knowledge of marine exhaust systems and their unique design and compliance requirements. The drafter collaborates with marine engineers, designers, and project teams to produce designs that ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with maritime regulations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of marine exhaust systems, including piping, manifolds, silencers, and other exhaust components, based on specifications from engineering teams.
2. Work closely with marine engineers and designers to understand system requirements, incorporate necessary revisions, and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and environmental standards.
3. Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards and regulations from bodies such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), International Maritime Organization (IMO), and other regulatory authorities related to emissions, noise control, and safety.
4. Modify existing drawings to incorporate changes in design specifications, materials, or feedback from stakeholders. Ensure all revisions are documented and integrated.
5. Assist with Prototype and Production Support: Provide accurate drawings and technical support during prototyping and production phases to help resolve design issues and ensure manufacturing feasibility.

7. Educational Background: An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in CAD, engineering, or a related technical field is often required, with coursework in marine engineering or systems design preferred.
