About the job
Project Overview:
We are a small Spanish company specializing in building custom flight simulators for recreational use. Our work typically involves designing and producing hardware components—such as game controllers—based on Arduino and Bodnar BU0836 IO boards. While our projects are not highly complex, we consistently have new requirements tied to platforms like X-Plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, and DCS World. Although familiarity with aviation or these simulators is not a strict requirement, it would be beneficial if the contractor had an interest or prior experience in these areas.
Key Project Details:
Scope of Work:
The main tasks will include designing PCBs, developing a Bill of Materials (BOM), generating Gerber files for manufacturing, and helping to source, test, and prepare the boards for integration into our simulator cases. Most of the work involves straightforward PCB designs rather than complex logic boards.
We provide CAD designs (typically Fusion 360 files) for the panel layout.
We specify the electrical components, such as rotary encoders, seven-segment displays, backlit buttons, and more.
The contractor designs the appropriate PCBs and develops the Gerber files needed for manufacturing.
A BOM is created, and either we or the contractor will order the components and boards—often through JLPCB.
The contractor tests the assembled PCBs and assists in finalizing them for integration into our simulator cases.

Requirements:
Ability to work with CAD designs and electrical component specifications to produce reliable PCBs.
Experience in PCB design, BOM development, Gerber file generation, and component sourcing.
Capable of basic board testing and troubleshooting before delivery.
Familiarity with or interest in aviation or flight simulation is a plus, but not mandatory.
Partnership and Workflow:
We are looking for a reliable outsourced PCB designer who can handle projects on a regular basis. Our goal is to establish a long-term relationship where the designer can quickly take our panel designs and component specifications, produce the needed PCBs, generate the Gerber files, and help ensure they are ready for assembly and use. Each project will be handled on a case-by-case basis, with consistent communication and clear specifications provided for every task.
Current Needs:
At present, we have several projects requiring quotes and are eager to find a suitable partner to help streamline the process.
