I am a mechanical engineer with over 3 years of experience in the design and execution of specialized mechanical systems for the oil & gas, agricultural, and biomass industries. My expertise encompasses 3D modeling, fabrication drawings, structural design, and project management, delivering tailored solutions for complex industrial challenges. Design Engineer – Oil & Gas Sector In my role as a design engineer, I was responsible for the complete design and development of various specialized trailers and equipment, including: • Mud Tanks on Axles: Designed for the storage and transportation of drilling fluids. • Frac Tanks: Large-capacity steel tanks used for storing liquids during hydraulic fracturing operations. • Dewatering Units: Systems for separating solids from liquids in drilling operations. • Acid Tanks: Containers designed to safely store and transport acidic fluids. • Centrifuge Stands: Structures supporting centrifuges used in solids control. • Mobile Wireline Units: Truck-mounted units equipped for wireline operations. • Standard Lowboy Trailers: Trailers with a low deck height for transporting heavy equipment. • Custom Trailers for Specialized Operations: Tailored designs to meet specific operational requirements. • Steel Platforms and Storage Tanks: Structures for various industrial applications. Project Engineer – Agricultural & Biomass Industries As a project engineer, I led the design and implementation of mechanical systems for the processing of African palm oil and biomass energy production. Key projects included: • Drag Chain Conveyors: Used for horizontal transport of bulk materials. • Screw Conveyors: Employed for moving granular or semi-solid materials. • Bucket Elevators: Vertical conveyors for lifting bulk materials. • Fruit Digesters: Equipment for breaking down palm fruit to extract oil. • Belt Conveyors: Systems for continuous transport of materials. • Nut Storage Silos: Structures for storing palm nuts. • Chimneys and Multicyclones: Devices for controlling emissions from biomass boilers. I managed these projects from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. As a professional CAD designer and draftsperson my previous projects have included hydraulic race-car trailers, scissor lifts, medical devices, water-pipe inspection robots and chassis extensions. Recently I completed my Engineering Thesis on the design of an exoskeleton prototype to assist stroke survivors in walking rehabilitation. I was fortunate enough to be awarded the Dean's Award for Best Engineering Thesis Presentation for this design. Following the submission of this thesis, I graduated with honours from the University of Technology, Sydney as a Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineer. As a user of SolidWorks, I am currently certified by Dassault Systemes as having achieved 'Professional' level for SolidWorks mechanical design.
