About
Hello! I am an engineer currently looking to support myself financially as I job search in this all-too-tough job market. If you need some help or want to offload some work, I am your guy!
Software expertise in ABAQUS, HyperWorks, and Optistruct with experience in Solidworks as well as python for data visualization.
My skills are structural analysis, optimization, data visualization, and finite element analysis. Mostly in aerospace applications but the skills are transferrable to mechanical engineering applications as my M.S. focus was in Structures.
Former member of the Multiscale Analysis of Materials and Structures (MAMS) Lab where I optimized the layup of an AFP produced CFRC cryogenic tank made to hold rocket propellant for space-bound missions. Results showed mass savings of ~30% and manufacturing time savings of ~40% compared to traditional tank layups yielding implied savings worth millions of dollars.

Hands-on lab experience designing, building and testing structures made out of carbon fiber-
epoxy composite material. Experience includes designing and optimizing in HyperWorks CAE
as well as hand-layup manufacturing and industry-standard structural testing such as 3PB.

Award-winning thesis recognized for distinguished achievements and exceptional progress in
research. Optimized the design and layup of a carbon fiber composite-based cryogenic rocket
fuel tank. Used CAE software HyperWorks with Optistruct to model, run tructural analyses,
and optimize for strength while reducing weight and maintaining manufacturability. Compared
and analyzed against traditional methods and metals, project yielded mass reductions of ∼ 30%
and reduced manufacturing time by ∼ 40%, implying multi-million-dollar reductions.

Hands-on lab experience with manufacturing tools, techniques, and hardware in a professional
laboratory. Learned various new software to gain familiarity and experience including CNC
machining software VCP/VCS by Vericut. Helped troubleshoot material loading, calibration,
and material ejection for ElectroImpact’s Automated Fiber Placement 3.0 robot.

Observed the galactic High Velocity Smith Cloud using NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope.
Processed and visualized large data sets in Python, applying physics principles to derive valid
conclusions and insights. Spectroscopy techniques used to determine strength of processes
influencing the cloud’s shape as it interacts with the Milky Way to spark future star formation.
