Description:
I would like to design a mould that forms one of 3 sections of a speaker pod design that is 3D printable. It is the 10" subwoofer pod. The full speaker system is 3 parts. I need to make a mould I can pour resin into to save 3D printing cost of large 3D print.

The mould needs to have a hollow inside volume where the speaker is mounted. Design is preferable to be a single cast but if not possible it can be a two piece mould that attaches two half spherical designs together or a preferably a single one. Creativity is key.

Software:

Solidworks, Fusion 360 and/or Inventor but whatever can get the job done.
Wants:
I have posted the photos of the product I need to make a mold. It is a 10" subwoofer enclosure with a stand.

- Able to cast subwoofer enclosure with epoxy resin or other dense material
- Simplicity to 3D print the mould
- Practicality - does it actually work?
- Must be strong and sealed design!
Don't Wants:
- Silicone based design unless absolutely necessary
- Difficult to 3D print
- Doesn't produce a hollow speaker enclosure
Ask for Sample:
Please provide a a functional sample of your best mold design idea to produce the 10" subwoofer enclosure with liquid epoxy resin or similar material.
Software:
  1. 2D & 3D Modeling Solidworks
  2. Autodesk Fusion 360
  3. Autodesk Inventor
Additional Information
I have added the step file to the attachments.

Colleagues, don&;t fall for these scams. The client has the obligation to make the prepayment.
Otherwise, it wastes our time.
Until next time, greetings

@AmpedUPElectronics No sir, I don&;t trust you as a client.
you are not committed to the project even to make the payment of the prize of just $160. On top of that, you would barely pay for one when it has more than 10 participants. There is no 2nd or 3rd prize.
The solution to your problem is through injection, but I am sure that no supplier is going to inject less than 10 thousand pieces and you have the idea of making less than 100.
I only recommend that my colleagues filter out clients with toxic attitudes that contaminate the community.
11 days have passed since you promised to pay.
Have a nice day

@draftcad3D -- are you done complaining about the job? I will pay in advance and have it available but I expect that you will have your solution ready for review.

I am very sorry that this bothers you sir. I will only participate in contests where the prizes are paid in advance.
Have a great weekend

@draftcad3D you have a lot to say but no ideas to enter the contest!

@draftcad — there is no ideas worth taking and all I get is a photo no source deliveries to which I must determine on my own if it will even work as advertised. In fact designers are telling me I must cast in 2 parts. That is not the solution to the problem.

@HawT3D be serious & pro. $160 is 4hs x $40 in real world. Here we can work for $20 (8hs).

If he do not pay the prize for any reason, he can take our ideas without having contributed anything.
If we, who are designers, do not respect the work of designers, we cannot expect the client to do so.
The client must demonstrate interest by paying the prize in advance.

If you cast the whole resin part in a single piece, then after casting, you can&;t separate the molded part from the mold. Your molded part must be in two parts so that, after molding, you can join them with glue or something else. Otherwise, you have to follow another molding method (blow molding or rotational molding). Let me know your opinion.

I have one entry that is very good but no exploded animation on the removal of the cast from the mould. I think that should be a requirement so I will add it. I will not prepay or add more to the prize till I see more interest and efforts on the designers side.

#increaseprize & pay
This would mean your commitment to the designers.
We all know that only one will win and that is what forces us to strive.
Thank you

Hi! Hope you are doing well.
What does "Volume for resin.step" part suggest in your file? The mold you require is for "woofer shell hollowed for resin.step" part?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

The payment page is still pending we are hope that Mr Jeff can make it prepaid so as to increase designers entries

Can you provide a 3D version of your subwoofer product? It can&;t be in Step or Stl format.
Sun, 05 May 2024 22:48:23 +0000
What is the print area of the 3d printer you are using. As others have said we will need more specific dimensions to design the pod properly
Sun, 05 May 2024 21:13:52 +0000
What software created the attached images? If it is a vector format, such as Illustrator, can you supply CAD files, such as DXF&;s?
Sun, 05 May 2024 20:54:08 +0000
Looking at the images you provided I can see that there&;s an undercut at the lip of the chamber, so by necessity it would have to be made in 2 pieces.
Also, we will need a better diagram to properly design the mold to your desired dimensions. Unless of course you&;re fine with it just being the rough shape shown in the image, and aren&;t too worried about accuracy of the pod.

Two-Piece Plastic Shot Glass Design with Screw Threads
(See attachment for figure drawings) Shot glass shape (will be plastic moldable) with sloped/curved upper region (Fig. C) 90mm in height, fully assembled (Fig. C) 52 mm diameter at the top; 35 mm diameter at the bottom (Fig. C) Desired wall thickness: 2 mm 2 pieces (Fig. A and Fig. B) screw together to form the item (Fig. C) Top piece (Fig. A): Height of 20 mm plus 5 mm male threads (we are flexible on the dimensions of the threads based on designer’s expertise) The brim should be rounded Bottom piece (Fig. B): Height of 70 mm includes 5 mm of corresponding inner female threads at the top The objective is to create an inner chamber when the two pieces are screwed together that will hold in a solid piece, but allow liquid to flow through. This should be achieved by having the bottoms of both pieces include a stylized, wavy “grate”. (Fig. D).

Silicone Toddler Placemat
We want to make a silicone placemat for toddlers with extruding bowls (probably 3 bowls). The shape should be a dinosaur (maybe stegosaurus or t-rex). Please see attached elephant for an idea of what we are looking for. Simple yet elegant and appealing. The mat size should be 10"x7.7"x1". The bowls should comprise most of the mat, besides perhaps a 1" to maybe 1/2" border. The edges should allow for spilling a drink and the liquid would not run onto the table. Past the raised edges though, the mat should slope down towards the table. The idea is that the toddler (or even adult really) cannot get his fingers underneath the mat because it slopes towards the table. We also need a small credit card style tool to lift up the mat since it will basically be impossible to pull up from the table once you lay it down.
