Description:
Design and prototype an iPhone and iPod touch case that incorporates a right angle lens and 2x zoom lens. Also maybe model a cavity for extra battery pack if possible. A laser pointer would be a bonus.

I realize the components will result in a somewhat bulky design. I am ok with that.

Also, not sure how to budget here. Putting 1000 to start.

Come to think of it ricban, we can maybe sneak a the small tulip type battery pack in the handle?

The battery pack is optional.. but if we could sneak an aftermarket battery pack ( Mophie or similar ) in the case cavity that would be beneficial.

Hello dfafard,
I had a question about the battery pack. Can you elaborate on this?
Thank you,
ricban

The trick is to marry the right angle lens to the zoom lens and align to the iPods camera in a case that supports everything.

Hi cadcupid,
1. Yes the user will pick up and interact with the case. i.e. walk to inventory location and scan code.
2. Yes any other can be used ( i have not found any other yet ) And yes, I need the cast to provide structural integrity to the assembly. ( even if the case has to be bulky )

hi dfafard,
I have some questions, please.
1. Does the user still have to pick up the case? (handheld design) or does the user simply have to click to scan a code at 4ft (tabletop design) ?
2. Can any other right angle lens be used? The combination of lenses that you have provided are not directly compatible with each other. i.e. one can not be placed over the other like in your design. Or is this what you want the case to function as? to provide structural integration to this assembly?

Hi ricban,
I think the case would be a good option and also, this would be permanent.
Here is the use case. I am using QR code scanning with great success in my organization. I am basically swapping out Symbol Bar code readers for this tech. But.. I am limited on ease of use for two reasons. 1. The user has to "pick up the iPod vertically" to see what they are scanning instead of holding the device on a more natural horizontal plane. and 2. The distance between the user and code is currently 4 ft.

So the goal would be to utilize a the right angle lens ( periscope ) in conjunction with the 2x Zoom so I could accomplish the goal and ease of use.

and is this permanent or when needed?
thank you

Are you looking for something that attaches securely to the case or would you like it embedded? The reason I ask is that, if you want it embedded you are basically asking for a mold for a case. Could you elaborate more on how it is to be used and the end user.
Thank you
Rick

Thanks Lucian, I uploaded a rough sketch. As for paid or pre-paid, I do not know what will happen here. Can I get a fully mocked up "real" sample or id this just 3D CAD renderings? Also, Could someone help me manufacture these in small quantities ? Thanks, Just a newbee here.

Hi David,

Please remember to include attachments so the designers will fully understand your project. If you need help including these, please refer to this link http://goo.gl/mnFSgg and our help pages.

Also, pre-paid projects often receive 4-5X the number of entires received by "Payment Pending" work. Most of our top designers only work on pre-paid contests to ensure the buyer is serious about the work.

Thanks,
Lucian

Inventor product block maintenance
We have a large number of CAD blocks representing our product range which require alteration. The work is quite straight forward but high in volume. There will be a number of weeks work with the potential for ongoing work. An understanding of the vault filing system used for Inventor would be an advantage but is not essential.
Design the coolest penis rings
We already have a successful line of vibrating penis rings, to get an idea visit http://www.ovo.de/en/category/rings. The new line will be different, though, ovo is a line created with a white, clean, mainstream concept, the new line will be branded LooP. "LooP Maximum Performance"will be inspired in sports and concept cars, men worldwide appeal very well to sports cars and performance is always related to them, therefore, sexual performance can be inspired in sports cars. Designers need to take the following into account: 1. Vibrating penis rings must meet their promise, they deliver orgasms by stimulating both, men and women during intercourse, designers must think of the ergonomics of sex, the ring constrains the flow of blood to the penis but the part that holds the motor serves a double purpose, it indirectly stimulates men and directly stimulates the clitoris, so successful designs must consider an elevation of the part that holds the motor. 2. I envision these rings as a fusion between the ring and a sports car, the front of the "car" is the ring and the hood holds the motor, the elevation that will get in contact with the clitoris is the "windshield" and the hood, the vibration from the motor will diffuse to the "windshield" and the "hood" the back of the ring is just pure design. 2. The material is medical grade silicone as it is stretchy and tissue safe, this also means the following constrains: Silicone is matt finished, attaining a glossy color is somewhat difficult but not impossible, there should not be too many elements in the ring as these rings perform in a "wet" environment, bacteria can get inside the joints of different layers. 3. I want 16 different rings, each of them inspired in a sports or concept car, we will have suggestive names for them like "Loop Stealth", "LooP M3", "LooP Viper", etc. Finally, Have fun, I think it's an amazing project!! PS. Attached is our number one selling penis ring from the current line, that will give you an idea on size, weight and motor positioning. Also, I have attached a preliminary logo, the symbol you see is the celtic symbol of virility which could nicely be used in the rings the same way sports car have a symbol on the hood.
Enclosure design for a building automation product
Our company is looking for enclosure designs for a set of 3 PCB modules which can connect together to form one single product. Our chosen manufacturer uses folded plastic sheet, although design ideas do not need to be limited to this process. The main board can feature as a standalone product but in many cases will be connected with the HV and I/O submodule boards, in which case they need to form a single product. There should be a lock-in mechanism on the side panels of the main enclosure to allow connection with HV board and I/O board. The Main board will have an LED panel illuminating the company logo (which will change colours based on the product status). Each individual enclosure should be DIN rail mountable. The top and bottom inputs and outputs modules on each board should be exposed so that appropriate connections can be made without opening the box. The way the three modules assemble together into one product should be similar to this: http://sie.ag/1E7emGo Beyond the technical specifications we are looking for a fresh design to take away the feel of an industrial product and make this looks more like a consumer product. We are looking for something sleek and fresh with the look and feel of a quality product.
Le Mans LMP1
I want someone to design a Le Mans Prototype, and I prefer the Toyota Hybrid TS030. This is a personal project to build it as a hobby. I want to build the body out of fiber glass by making (milling) molds with a CNC router machine using a 3D software. I am a fabricator, so it will be easier and preferable for me to build (weld) the chassis out of aluminum or steel, whichever you think will be more recommended for building a chassis.
Hotel Butler Robot
I am looking for an industrial design of a hotel butler robot with manufacturing specification. I would like an interchangeable face module - 1 with the mascot as the face, another with a screen as the face. Additionally the robot needs to have an interchangeable stand to make it taller like the Double ipad stand. http://www.doublerobotics.com/ Here are some of the specs the robot needs to possess so you can factor it into the design: Size: 56 x 35 x 35 cm Weight: 5-8kg with the majority of the weight at the bottom of the robot Exterior Components: • Rechargeable battery pad/station Interchangeable Modules: • Butler face head • Screen face head • Stand (Double Like) to extend height http://www.doublerobotics.com/ Internal Component: • 1080HD w night vision camera • 2W speaker with 22mm diaphragm • 1 microphone • 1HDMI output • 1USB output • 1SD card slot • Range finder sensors • Ground detection sensors • Object Detection sensors • 4 motors feedback control • Head rotation 2 Axes: 1st +/- 90°, 2nd +80°/-60° • Base Movement 360° (2 drive wheels, 3rd support wheel) • Electrical Rechargeable Battery • Wifi & SIM Card Deliverable: 1) Butler Robot looking mostly like the attached mascot with an interchangeable screen module and rechargeable pad design 2) Adjustable height stand – see Double for reference 3) Video showing its movement and interchangeable module in order to show to the client 4) Manufacturing specifications
