I realize the components will result in a somewhat bulky design. I am ok with that.
Also, not sure how to budget here. Putting 1000 to start.

I had a question about the battery pack. Can you elaborate on this?
Thank you,

1. Yes the user will pick up and interact with the case. i.e. walk to inventory location and scan code.
2. Yes any other can be used ( i have not found any other yet ) And yes, I need the cast to provide structural integrity to the assembly. ( even if the case has to be bulky )
I have some questions, please.
1. Does the user still have to pick up the case? (handheld design) or does the user simply have to click to scan a code at 4ft (tabletop design) ?
2. Can any other right angle lens be used? The combination of lenses that you have provided are not directly compatible with each other. i.e. one can not be placed over the other like in your design. Or is this what you want the case to function as? to provide structural integration to this assembly?

I think the case would be a good option and also, this would be permanent.
Here is the use case. I am using QR code scanning with great success in my organization. I am basically swapping out Symbol Bar code readers for this tech. But.. I am limited on ease of use for two reasons. 1. The user has to "pick up the iPod vertically" to see what they are scanning instead of holding the device on a more natural horizontal plane. and 2. The distance between the user and code is currently 4 ft.
So the goal would be to utilize a the right angle lens ( periscope ) in conjunction with the 2x Zoom so I could accomplish the goal and ease of use.

Please remember to include attachments so the designers will fully understand your project. If you need help including these, please refer to this link http://goo.gl/mnFSgg and our help pages.
Also, pre-paid projects often receive 4-5X the number of entires received by "Payment Pending" work. Most of our top designers only work on pre-paid contests to ensure the buyer is serious about the work.
Thanks,
