I am a Mechanical Engineer both by education and trade. I have experience in design work and project work. I am familiar with design for assembly and design for manufacture. K.I.S.S. is a principle I live by and I understand that designs should be manufacturable. I have knowledge of and experience with various fabrication processes including but not limited to 3D printing, machining, and welding. My professional certification was given to me by Texas after rigorous testing and peer review. My area of testing was in Machine Design and Materials. I can perform FEA analysis and make sense of the results, allowing me to make good engineering recommendations for a given problem. I have spent the majority of my professional career designing dP (differential pressure) flow meters in accordance to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code as well as the accompanying ASME B31 series. The majority of my experience is with lithium-ion battery design engineering, launch and ramp in large-scale manufacturing however I also have experience with forensic engineering and lithium-ion cell mechanical R&D. My most notable career-highlight is creating a global sustaining-engineering model and building a team-structure to execute thereto. I've done this twice, once for DeWalt's highest-volume lithium-ion battery product (>10 production lines in 3 factories globally) and again for Tesla's Model 3/Y legacy battery production (2 Giga-factories). To give you a quick run through, I am a product Design graduate from the University of Louisiana. During my time there, I I was part of a transit development team in the Product Design department that worked and created a new system of travel for the university. This experience led me to become a Marine Designer. I worked with a team of engineers and other designers to design and create new marine vessels. My job responsibilities entailed 3D modeling vessels for manufacturing, creating 2D construction drawings from my 3D models for the ship yards, creating renderings from my models for shipyards, image editing and creating images for company marketing. My greatest accomplishment at this job was being a part of a team that created the worlds fastest aluminum boat over 200 feet. From Marine Design, I took an opportunity as a Jewelry Designer. This is my current day job. I am challenged everyday in creating and designing 3D models that require the utmost expertise to achieve the designs complex, free-form shapes. I continued to work in the Electronic Game Machine industry for a total of almost 16 years. Prior to working as an engineer for IGT, I acquired an additional 3 years of machine shop and fabrication experience from MTG, Inc in Carson City, NV. To date, I have designed, developed, and tested most aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Have applied knowledge of engineering principles to design various other products such as test instruments and controls for internal use. Have been heavily involved in fabrication, operation, installation, and the field repair of electro-mechanical products. To date, I hold patents in the EGM field for reel basket attachment techniques. I am familiar with a large variety of the fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures. I have design everything from razor packaging assembly machines to chemical lab solution robots. My machine design experience has given a deep knowledge of sheet metal design and plastic part (molded/machined/3D printed) design. As a senior engineer I have taken projects from concept to production level completion.
