About
I have a honours degree in Chemical Engineering; a Master’s in Business Leadership (MBL) degree and, registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA. My experience is in excess of 40 years from the Consulting and Project environment within the Pulp & Paper sector, Industrial Power & Energy Generation, Renewable Energy, Environmental Solutions, Industrial Processes, Water & Effluent treatment, Sustainability related projects in the mining, energy / renewable energy & Agri sector and; limited experience in the Petro-Chem industry. I have travelled widely (both local and international) to evaluate new technology, to international conferences and on project assignments.
My areas of expertise are:
• Technical / Consulting services (Incl. Strategic Studies, Feasibility Studies, Technical Due Diligence, Sustainability)
• Process integration (investigating, evaluating & implementing new technology)
• Cost Engineering (Financial models, project budgets, cost estimation, cash flow predictions, project cost control, window schedules, procurement and contract negotiations)
• Process Design (including process simulation, chemical, mass and energy balances)
• Front End Engineering; Project Development (from concept / idea to final solution); Project Scoping and “cradle to grave” analysis; Project execution

My expertise has been recognised through domestic and international assignments as lead process specialist and technology advisor, providing expert input into a number of engagements with companies like Mondi, Sappi, M&R, Metso, Valmet, Jakko Poyry, AF Engineering, MHPS, RavFin.....
I have been directly associated with numerous strategic and capital projects (both green fields and brown fields) and have completed concept development and design for projects ranging from minor modifications to complete process plants.

When developing solutions, I always take a holistic approach to define the alternatives and find the most appropriate solution always taking into consideration the trade-offs between technology & economic constraints, environmental demands and sustainability requirements; and facilitate choices between business priorities.
I have extensive experience in multi - disciplinary engineering projects.
I have both technical and financial capability (Experience with project scoping, Capex preparation, project justification and preparation of Board Papers).
I have worked with and managed a multi-cultural team.
