Texas DOT project: “Designing Pavements to Support the Heavy Loads in the Energy Development Areas”-Report
Published
- Studied and developed a decision tree to select feasible rigid pavement alternatives for energy development areas.
- Sampled and tested subgrade and base materials in the lab to study the existing conditions and suggest a framework
for suitable rigid pavement selection.
- Performed field testing such as FWD, GPR, DCP and obtained cores to support decision tree development.
- Conducted and analyzed LCCA for rigid pavement types under different maintenance, rehabilitation, and repair plans.
Oklahoma DOT Project: “Compilation of Local Studies and Regional Calibration of Pavement ME Design for Rigid &
Flexible Pavements in Oklahoma” – Report Published
- Collected and analyzed data from LTPP for different rigid pavement sections
- Analyzed FWD data to back-calculate parameters such as effective thickness, composite subgrade reaction,
coefficient of friction, and percent of erosion.
“Material Characterization of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) Pavements”- Published
- Received a fellowship of 40,000 dollars from the RCC Pavement Council to characterize the RCC materials.
- Employed electromagnetic theory to utilize the use of TDR in concrete.
- Developed a framework to estimate the damage in RCC pavements considering geometrical and environmental
factors.
