• Sr. Product Engineer / Pro Engineer Specialist Steelcase · Aug 2011 – Feb 2013 1 yrs 6 mos Athens, AL, USA SteelCase Athens is one of many plants that SteelCase has across the globe. The Athens plant has about 6 main products that they produce from ground up. Mostly consisting of Cubical Panels, PEDS (filing cabinets), overhead file bins and accessories. As Product Engineer, it is our job to learn the products we produce and support the plant as needing to insure their LEAN Manufacturing operations flow smooth.
  
  I also support the Engineering group by taking old iges files and modeling them into Pro Engineer. The use of family tables (tables that drive different size parts based on a single part) is used a lot with different size panels. We also use Pro Engineer Sheet Metal a lot as most of the parts we produce are Sheet Metal.
  
  Cost Savings is really important at companies like SteelCase. Product Engineers study existing designs and come up with ways to assemble parts cheaper, better and more cost effective. Insuring the product lines flow smooth with no problems is a key in production at SteelCase and is our job to insure that takes place.
  
• Mechanical Design Engineer/ Project Manager / Pro/ENGINNER Consultant Push Product Design · Nov 2002 – Nov 2010 8 yrs Birmingham, AL, USA Push Product Design is an Industrial Design Firm located in Birmingham. Push has 3 really great Industrial Designers who in the past have pulled off some amazing jobs ranging from large jobs like Motor Home designs to small jobs like Turkey Calls. My primary duties with Push is to take their ID Concepts and make them reality by designing and modeling the concepts in Pro/ENGINEER and making sure these ideas are able to Manufactured. Push specializes in very advanced surface design meaning that I also specialize in Advance surface design in Pro/ENGINEER.

Stellar Technology · Mar 2000 – Sep 2001 1 yrs 6 mos Huntsville, AL, USA As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Stellar, my duties include all aspects of product development, concept through manufacturing. Performed design for manufacturing on many high volume production products including metal castings, plastic injection molds, metal injection molds, machined components, and tooling. Design industries included commercial, consumer, structural, and medical products. Design aspects included many industrial type designs involving highly complex surface modeling. As a Electromechanical Designer my duties included designing plastic or metal enclosures for all types of printed circuit boards and single board computers. We also packaged GFCI’s and other electrical components. Some of our customers were SCI, Teledyne Brown, and Intergraph. I also performed all aspects of System Administration and networking of Silicon Graphics and PC workstations, UNIX and Windows NT platforms, and Pro/ENGINEER software. Taught several classes in Pro/ENGINEER Basic Training.
• Mechanical Design/Tooling Engineer/Die Builder Mangas Tool and Die · Jun 1999 – Mar 2000 9 mos Muscle Shoals, AL, USA Duties included drafting and design of Die Casts. Also built the models for carbon electrodes. Worked on and built the models of gates and runners in the die casts. Worked in the shop as a die builder which included machining, grinding, and building the die cast housings, cavities and cores.
• Mechanical Designer/Draftsman using Autocad and PRO/Engineer ES Robbins · Sep 1995 – Jun 1999 3 yrs 9 mos Muscle Shoals, AL, USA Duties included mechanical design, drafting, and layouts of plastic injection molded parts and plastic injection molds. Some of these parts included bottle enclosures, Kleer Measure ® (spice bottle measuring caps) and other varieties of enclosures. Also designed and detailed blow molded parts and blow molds. Headed up the R & D engineering department.
