Automotive Hood Design (Biw)

The design has been developed using the NXCad software. The inner panel thickness is 0.75 mm. The thickness of the outer panel is 0.75 mm. The Hinge & Striker position is shown in the above picture. It is provided to support load while opening and closing the hood. For stiffness, I have provided the mastic points between the inner and outer hood panel. For the mastic points, we need to ensure that no circle overlaps. For robust design, three-layer of embosses is been provided. The embosses are designed in V-shaped to divert the force outwards in case of a frontal crash.
