A 3D printed mold used to create a carbon-fibre airbox for an Ariel Twin motorbike. A touch of reverse engineering and advanced surface modelling were used on Autodesk Inventor to create the model for Ed's Motorcycles, a custom motorbike manufacturer in the Lake District, UK.
It was imperative that the tube connection aligned horizontally and the shape of the part allowed for extraction out of the mold. An abstract, curvy shape was advised to match the custom bike.
