We protect you and the Cad Crowd community by occasionally pausing job contracts. Typically, a job contract is automatically paused when there is an issue with your payment method on Cad Crowd (i.e., an expired or rejected credit card).
Pausing contracts prevent experts from logging additional hours on an hourly job contract. The paused job contract safeguards you from incurring extra costs while updating payment preferences and safeguards experts from logging hours that may not be compensated.
If we pause a contract, we will inform you and the expert and provide updates when the job contract restarts.
Steps to restart a paused job contract
If you have an overdue payment, you can resolve the problem by updating your preferred payment method or adding a new billing source to pay your overdue balance. Once your balance is paid, we will reactivate your job contract.
Please contact us if you believe a job contract was paused, and the issue is unrelated to your payment method. We will review your account and assist you in reactivating your job contracts. You may want to send a message to your team and let them know we’re resolving the issue.
Circumvention isn’t allowed
If your contract is on hold due to a payment-related problem, please do not ask experts to continue a job outside the Cad Crowd platform. Paying outside Cad Crowd is circumvention, increasing the likelihood of fraud, and violates our terms of service. If an expert wants to continue working and receive payment outside the platform, you should decline and contact us to report the user.
You can read this article to learn more about circumvention.
⚡ Note: Circumvention doesn’t apply if the Hire Direct Program fee is paid to hire an expert directly.
How to pause a job contract
You can pause a job contract at any time. You can read our article about pausing your jobs. We recommend sending a message to an expert to inform them why a job was paused and if it will restart later.
