FDM vs. SLA
To create a custom miniature, SLA (stereolithography apparatus) or resin 3D printing is much better than the filament-based alternative, FDM (fused deposition modeling). Some would argue that a decent SLA printer easily outperforms even the best FDM by a large margin. In FDM, the extruded filaments dry or solidify by air (cooling fans).
