Description:
We are launching a wireless device company that will produce luxury smartphones.
The purpose of this contest is to solicit cool and interesting design ideas as well as to develop an ongoing relationship with one or several designers to help move these products to market quickly and efficiently. We are only interested in the look and feel of the device; engineering will be addressed at a later date.


The design submission should include:

1) Model File: in Alias wire file format
2) Rendered Imagery: showing front, back, top, bottom left right and a 3/4 perspective views. Rendered views for front, back, top and bottom can be combined into one or two image files if appropriate. The perspective view must be a separate image.

It is encouraged that the rendered images be as realistic as possible and provide enough lighting to show design details. Environment and lighting style is left to the designer.
Wants:
Requirements:

1. IT MUST BE COOL !! - we want to evoke a visceral reaction to the phone
2. Marketing will be to both men and women
3. Metal case (stainless steel, silver, gold, copper, brass, aluminum, etc.)
4. Texture is important: can include various rich leathers, woods, rubber, etc.
5. Precious stones are a possibility though not a requirement (high end bling, light dimension, dazzle, sparkle, sheen, glitter)
6. Can be colorful
7. Interesting fasteners (screws, bolts, clips, etc.)
8. Screen dimensions 55-60 mm by 100-110 mm, total dimensions 60-70 mm by 135-145 mm
9. Extreme thinness and extreme light weight is NOT a requirement
10. There will be a single button on the front face (bottom of screen) and one or more buttons or volume toggles on each side
11. Slot for charging cable (micro USB)
12. Standard headphone jack, cameras (font and back), flash, mic, speaker(s)
13. Think expensive watches for inspiration…

Hi Ridwan,
Thanks to everyone who participated in our contest. Many of the submissions came in during the final days of he contest so in order to be fair to everyone we waited until the contest end to make a decision. You can see that the second place finisher was actually the 65 th submission so every design was given consideration in our process.

Thank you for your interest in this contest. The dimensions refer to the maximum screen size versus the maximum size of the device overall. We don&;t want to stray too far from conventional mobile phone dimensions.

If whatever you are using can export in wire format that would be best but the alias packages we use can accommodate many formats. If yours is supported then it won&;t be a problem. We are looking for concepts, the production design will of course undergo refinement.

Ring Mouse Charging Dock
Inviting concept design for a charging cradle for a ring mouse. AirPoint mouse is a finger-wearable bluetooth ring mouse. A user can slide the finger across a surface to get mouse cursor movement. It can also be used as an air mouse by moving finger in space. After use, this device needs to be docked in a charging cradle to recharge the battery and also for safe storage. Seeking designs for a charging dock for this device. See the attached picture and stp file for the reference dimension of the finger-wearable unit. Note that the finger-wearable unit has a magnetic connector that attaches to a magnetic connector in the charging PCB board.
