I see most of what the designers are coming up with are injected molded parts. Do you still plan to stick to a vacuum molded tub? It would be more cost affective then utilizing a different process? I also noticed that your attachment also expresses an injected molded lid? Why do you not sick with the aluminum lid style just form it? Anyway, I will come up with a concept for your review by this week.

Hi Samual,
Any material is okay. Just keep in mind that material needs to be wiped down easily to be disinfected. Current design utilizes a vacuum formed plastic for the bin body while the lid is made out of aluminum. When thinking about materials and methods of manufacture, please keep in mind that cost is very important, thanks.

Albertus, any concepts that meet the criteria are okay. If you go in the direction with the center pivot style that I posted, an interesting modification would be to integrate some type of smooth spring opening that would be triggered with a one button push.

can you tell me which material you want

It&;s a nice idea to move the center of the lid&;s rotation
Do you want us to develop the last attached concept ?
or do you seek other concepts from us?

All,

With regards to a pivoting lid type concept/solution, I have just attached a two pdfs with some thoughts.

Hi Decker,

Unfortunately no, cannot modify the angle of the bin holder (wire frame) from 0 degrees to 30 degrees. Bin needs to stay fixed at the 30 degree angle. Need clever concept to open the cover lid. For example, a circular movement of the lid rotating back instead of opening up.

What&;s the plan for the wire frames? Can we incorporate the rotation from 0-30 degrees to aid in the opening and closing of the lid?

EJB, Yes we will absolutely accept designs in other CAD platforms. As long as you could output a step or IGES file.

Will you accept entries in other formats other than SolidWorks?

Inside of frame dimension is ~25.50iches by 6.5inches. Wire frame diameter is 0.375". The rim size on the vacuum form part is roughly 0.75iches. Two piece lid design would be okay. Also, conceptual designs would be okay.

Also, can we get the frame measurements to be certain the bins will fit into the frame. The dimensions supplied look like just the bin size... If the proposed design has a rim, we need to know the frame size. Thanks.

Hello, is it a requirement for the lid to be one piece? Or can it be a two piece lid (half opening toward the "upper work surface" and the bottom half opening toward the "lower work surface"? Hope that makes sense. If not, I can sketch out what I mean easier than explaining with words, so just let me know. Thanks.
