Dear brainstomer,

It seems, it may get heavy as 3-4 kg to design the stick with self-balancing based on ball concept.
Otherwise it need to incorporate inverted pendulum balancing concept to make it self balancing. This also increase weight and cost. Needless to say it is complex.
Heavy stick is not useful design for you according to your comments.

Please consider about this.

Thank you for rating my first project on CADCrowd. If you have specific things you would like to see that are missing or details that need to be changed, let me know and I will submit another design. If my design is way off from what you are looking for, let me know as well. Also, after looking at your clarified design constraints and doing some simple calculations, I do not believe it will be possible to create a staff that meets all requirements and balances itself all the way down to 45° from horizontal using only a counter weight. I can get something to stay upright to a limit but you run into issues with material thickness, cane height, how much weight is in the base, etc. and I do not see a way to resolve them all simultaneously. This means you will either need an unusably heavy counter weight, or a completely different mechanism inside the cane that helps maintain balance at extreme angles.

Thank you for your time.

Dear This is fantastic work but we need details regarding the weight how is it will it move if so how ? the extension details, like the attachment between the base and the middle tube for example. For the self balance ability will the stick balance it self in 45 angle or 90 angle please explain more. for the red button below the handle what is it for ? and could you show hows the mechanism behind it.

Weight should be from 0.55 Kg and lower .... the lower the better ( weight would be one of the element to consider the winner )

Hi brainstromer
thank you for your review
i just want some clarification about the contest:
*my first design is just a proposition about how the stick will balance itself (the machinism),i&;ll improve the outer appearance as requested
*having different weights for the base and the stick is not enough to design a self balancing stick, because there is also other property to take into consideration,if not taken, the stick will continu balancing for a long time (having a stick that not stop balancing is not a cool thing to see)
*the stabilisation study i&;ve send you can provide a real time simulation with that follows the laws of physics, and that helps me configure those property
*TESTING THE DESIGN : prototyping this design is not an easy task, not a cheap one also,it will cost a lot on money for a design with so many parts

Gentleman thank you for your efforts but please look at picture number 3
Please note that im looking for the same concept of outer appearance with hollow grip to be light yet thick outer diameter so it wont break
The base has to look good same as picture number 3 with rubber end so the user wont slip and the base center weight has to be little heavier than the whole stick
so it will balance it self with the weight difference yet it wont be so heavy that the user can feel it (lets not forget that the user would be an old man and they cant handle weight) and please note that i would like you to print your design and try it yourself after all if it doesn&;t work then its no good right ? so please test it yourself

Think out side the box, a new take on photo booths. Innovation starts here.
Greetings. As a commercial photographer I was getting sick of this DIY Photo Booth market. So I've spent the past 2 years prototyping different products to combine to make a reliable product to take to market. While doing this we built a company that would let our products be tested in the real world. This is my first time posting for CADCrowd so we will be as detailed as possible, if you need any more info please leave a public message or send me a private message. What we are looking for: We want to build a product that is innovative, stylish, light weight, collapsable yet durable. We are sick of seeing Boxes. We want a unit that is free standing and curtain-less. I would love a stainless steel or aluminum face, but are open to other ideas. We don't want the end product to break the bank when it comes to manufacturing so would like materials to be widely available. Height - We would like the unit to be at its tallest 70" would like it to have removable sections so hight could vary. Free standing Collapsable/mobile - END GOAL would love for the entire unit to break down in to ONE 1650 Pelican Case. Simply assembly - would like this process to go quick, maybe pins/magnets/dovetails maybe power integration from base to components. Durable - This unit will be on the go, seeing 50-60 party's a year, thats 10,000 - 50,000 potentially drunk people a year and would love to get at least 5 years from it. Stream line - think of apples clean cut designs, would love for it to feel simple, not threatening. Products: Specs Available online or upon request. HITI 510L Printer - needs side access for paper and ink, can only print on a angle of up to 30 degrees, would love for paper to come out on the front under/lower then the screen. the printer can be removable or bolted to unit. (consider break down) Windows surface tablet - needs to be accessible for touch screen, needs to be mounted flush or minimal clearance for clean design. needs access to power and usb ports from the back. Camera - standard DSLR camera. would like to have a 77mm UV filter mounted for the camera to touch up against. a dovetail plate would be great to let the camera move back and forth for different lens (up to 8" of slide) Lights - would like to place LED's and a flash tube on either side of the camera so we will need holes and diffusion plexi/plastic for this as well. we will most lily be making our own boards to mount so there aren't any specs on this yet. Adjustable angle mount - would like it if the tablet/camera/light were mounted together with a potential of up to 20 degree horizontal tilt. (consider whats behind the faceplate, don't want gaps where fingers can get caught. I hope this sums up needs and wants. I will include a quick sketch of our ideas to maybe fuel your inspiration.
Self-Balancing Staff: Weighted Walking Stick Stays Upright
need to develop a self balancing walking stick for old people, need it to be light and durable that wont break easily when you place a person load on it . wont ever fall in the ground. Need to look stylish and simple looking attached a photo as an example of what i need
Enclosure
We want to provide a simple, functional, and unique enclosure to the market at a very reasonable and competitive price (around 100-200$) for our laser engraver below: https://yorahome.com/products/yora-cnc-laser-engraving-machine-6550 Something easy to assemble and universal that anyone with a 2-axis laser engraver (up to 65x50cxm) can afford to buy. We also plan to offer a 1x1m laser engraver. So, it will be nice to be able to offer an extension to the enclosure. We need CAD files in STEP or IGES that we can use for manufacturing. Our brand name YoraHome needs to be visible on the machine. We want to be able to start shipping the first units during Xmas. So, the CAD design needs to be ready before the end of the month of October 2021.
Totem Pole
I am looking for a CAD or 3d Studio Max drawing of 8 totem pole sections. These sections are going to be cut on a CNC laithe out of wood logs. There are going to be 2 top sections and 6 interchangeable mid sections. The top sections are going to be some kind of bird that have cutouts for insert able wings. One of the birds is to have a flat beak and the other one a large beak that is machined separately. The wings are going to be cut from about 3/4" thick wood. There will be two sets of wings (4 total) two large and two small. The large wings will be about 12" X 36" and the small wings will be about 8" x 20". All sections to be 36" to 60" long using 9" to 16" diameter logs. The base of the top sections and the top and base of all of the mid sections need to be similar diameter so that they can be stacked on top of one another. There is a significant artistic component to this project. There are some models available online to get a start with but they will need to be modified and added to. Keep in mind that all of the pieces need to have a similar theme. All of the pieces should be a stylized depiction of a north american animal ie. moose, bear, beaver, squirrel, turtle, eagle, owl etc. A mosquito would be great too.
Hover fit
HoverFit is an exercise device used to strengthen the upper body. The device is comprised of a circular ring with padding in the inner portion for comfort. It is approximately 10” in diameter. Users put both ankles in the ring and strap down the padding. Users utilize a percentage of their own weight to complete the movements. There is a moving mechanism that keeps the device from becoming tangled and allows for free rotation and movement. The device can be hung from any suitable location above the user.
