XPRIZE is seeking designs for six different trophies to be 3D printed for our Visioneering Summit. This page is the competition for designs for the Saving Coral Reefs trophy. XPRIZE is the world leader in large-scale global incentive competitions to crowdsource solutions to the world's grandest challenges. The XPRIZE Visioneering Summit is our annual gala, with 300 of our closest ecosystem members attending (including entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 CEOs, philanthropists, celebrities, Nobel Laureates, etc.) Five thematic topics will be showcased at the event; awards will be provided in each thematic topic area and a Grand Prize winner will be awarded.
This will be the trophy for Saving Coral Reefs. The Saving Coral Reefs Grand Challenge, sponsored by the XPRIZE Ocean Initiative, is seeking urgently needed innovations that can scale to protect and restore coral reefs. In addition to the monetary award, winning designs will be printed and featured on our Main Stage at the event.
Wants:
We are looking for something beautiful but simple, efficient and sustainable using the minimum amount of material. Designs should be innovative, organic and convey the deeper meaning of the XPRIZE Foundation to ‘build a bridge to abundance for all’ as well as relate to the specific challenge area, in this case Saving Coral Reefs. Designs should say 2018 XPRIZE Visioneering Winner - Saving Coral Reefs.Designs should incorporate the name of the topic, the Sponsor name, and what the prize is for, as well as the XPRIZE Visioneering Logo (attached). More information about each topic and Sponsors can be found at xprize.org/visioneering
Requirements:
Any CAD software is fine, as long as you will provide a STL file, for 3D printing. Designs must be limited to a 250mm cube build volume and designed to print with FDM (aka: material extrusion, FFF) technology from thermoplastic material. Any filament material is also fine.

Our plan is to 3D print the trophies. Our preference is for trophies that a)convey the XPRIZE brand of being bold, audacious and innovative and b)relate to the specific Grand Challenges (in this case, for example, Saving Coral Reefs), so our expectation is that at least some part of the trophy will have to be radically new, but if there are elements you&

Do you want the trophy to be 3d printed? Or a more traditional fafacturing method. If we design trophystrophys for the other contests, would it be OK to slightly modify the designs instead of building completely new ones?
