Description:
Problem - Going to the beach and trying to eat and fix lunches or snacks without getting sand in your food and drinks is a never ending challenge for beachgoers. And when you put kids in the mix, it doubles and triples your chances of a sand-filled experience. There are currently no products on the market today that mimic a solid foundation.
* Either you are dragging a fold up table or laying down a towel or trying to do it all on top of your cooler lid.
* You cannot sit your chairs on your towels or a tarp as they end up pushing sand onto the towel/tarp and or tearing them.

Solution - A foldable hard surface that can be carried by one person
*Would need to fit to a standard 10x10 pop up tent and include some type of loops or straps for connecting to the legs (If a tent is larger, that is fine as the weight should keep it from blowing away. Or, could include 4 stakes)

*Would want a way that it unfolds to have a whole in the center that would be large enough to allow for a Beach Umbrella Anchor to fit through it. (Example: images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71bMza2sNfL._SL1500_.jpg) .

*By doing this, you allow for a customer to use it either with an umbrella, a tent or with no shade cover.

*Should include a nice bag carrying cover with handles.

Material considerations:
* This should be made of a hard plastic like material. Metal will be too heavy and cloth-like material found on tumbling mats will potentially tear unless we could source something that has proven durability and will not cave with weight.

*The material should be considered for printing of logos or branding (Sports teams, Company logos/names, etc.)
Wants:
Evaluation Criteria:
We will consider a winning design based on achieving the goals of solving the basic problem as stated above.

We will look for designs that add any new ideas that improve on the experience for the consumer.

We will look for the design to be clean and simple to assemble with minimal steps.

Anything that has a complex process for a consumer beyond four steps will not be considered.

Consideration for costs to mass produce will be a factor, but will be more of a bonus vs the other criteria stated above.

The winner of the design project will be selected for follow on work such as 3D animation for marketing, actual CAD specific documents for manufacturing, etc.
Don't Wants:
I don't need full scale CAD drawings for commercial use yet. If you want to, you can, but looking for design concepts at this point for use in Proof of Concept with consumers. Winner will be given the follow on work to design the final materials.

Hello Mark G.
thanks for your feedback, i sent a new entry describing your product more clearly.
but already advance the customer will not need to assemble anything, the product will already be assembled from the factory, only need to unroll the product from the packaging.
thanks for listening.

Bruno, I am a bit confused on the PDF. It looks like several parts, but then the description says it would be one piece rolled up. Can you help me better understand this last revision?

@rednom, I appreciate your feedback. But we have 18 designs that have been provided with great designs based off the direction in the scope. The focus is the floor. and of course sand will blow into things. It is a beach. This is about having something at the next level vs. a bunch of beach towels strung together. Thanks and you are welcome to submit your design for consideration.

*Sand into food
Sat, 25 Jan 2020 21:12:45 +0000
I have a question regarding the practicality of this hard surface. You say the purpose of it is to prevent sand from entering food and drinks. How does a hard surface prevent sand from entering food? Even with a hard surface, the wind still blows food into your food. You might say a tent solves the wind issue. But then, a tent by itself with a mat would do the trick. Please make the objective more clear. It makes more sense to design food and drink containers which prevent sand from entering (when open) as per your problem description. Or, if you are fixated on the hard surface design, it would make more sense to change the problem you are tackling (say, a stable area for a family picnic at the beach)

@coldmonk, per the description, yes, it needs to be hard enough for someone to sit on it, put a potential chair or cooler on it and yes it needs to be able to fit a 10x10 beach tent with poles over it and somehow strap or be secured. so, maybe notched corners with straps or something like that.

Hey CH, so you want a hard, durable, portable floor, right? If so then how big, 10&;*10&; of some other dimension would do.

Smart Water Carafe
- a glass Water Carafe that does not drip upon pouring - a smart lid that covers it up the glass part, which could block lemon slices / fruits from flowing out. It blocks dust from going in when its rested. - lid made with a combination of ABS resin, stainless steel, and silicone. Could be poured in 360 degrees all directions, and you don't have to open the lid while pouring. - prefer to have same functions / aesthetic like the Menu / Kinto water carafe - 3 sizes, 0.7L, 1L, 1.3L. Best to share 3 sizes of tubs with 1 single lid. But not a must. - Body made of boro-silicate glass, which is mouth blown - Can be lifted / held by one hand. So a reasonable diameter is required. - Dishwasher safe, no glueing.
Blank Case - iPhone Case Design with AutoCAD
Hello, I have a Iphone 5 case design. I need it done in cad in order to get a quote on manufacturing the prototype, the case has four layers three of which have two parts. I need to get started on this ASAP. Thank you
Ez 3D Printer
i need the casing design to house the conceptual mechanical mechanism, aim of the 3D printer Robust, aesthetic and functional, very easy to use, a must have for anyone who wants to experience 3D Printing; almost all parts are 3D printed;
Wooden 3d printer
I want to build a 3d printing machine out of 1/4” plywood and wooden dowels. To win the prize, I need a 3d rendering, a explosion picture of the system and a dxf or dwg file showing all the parts laid out for cutting by a cnc machine. The goal is to Repstrap a 3d printer similar to the Wally. The first thing to do is review the Wally blog at http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?185,220993 The next thing to review is the git hub site. https://github.com/NicholasSeward/ConceptFORGE/tree/master/Wally This has all the files for dimensions and parts needed This will be the starting point, nothing is set in stone, If you need things to be bigger or smaller, that is ok. 1. I have included a variety of pictures and ideas. Use them as you wish. 2. I see the arms built out of 3 layers of plywood. Bearing on top, bearing on bottom and the middle piece has a smaller diameter hole to keep bearings from falling through. Ply wood dowels should be used for indexing assembly. 3. Bearings are being used for both smooth motion and rigidity. 4. The frame and table should be tabbed so that the parts push together and self align. 5. The back is to be 2 layers. For a total of 1/2”. The back should be inset a 1/4” to allow for a future modification. 6. All parts that can ( brackets) should be tabbed to self align and position. 7. I would like to be able to flip one of the arms and have it line up with the other arm. This is for a future change to add a central carrier. (like in the original design) 8. Shaft connections to motors need to be figured out 9. To tighten the fishing line, I will be using guitat pegs. There needs to be a hole for a dowel to lock in position. 10. I would like to get all the pieces on the front side of the printer. If dimensions need to be made to frame, that is fine. 11. Bed will be multiple layers. There should be a bottom, a ring to open center to 1/2” (for a heated bed) and a pice of glass will sit on top of this. 12. Pulley to arm attachment. I have a couple of ides on this. One is to use a dowel into a bearing another is to tighten the bolt and then have a plywood key that fits around outside of bolt and keys into pulley or arm. 13. The bearings are cheap. If an extra bearing makes something easier, use it. 14. File will be cut using an 1/8th inch bit. Adjust slots for this. (ie. Add a 1/16th of an inch to each side I am sure there will be lots of questions. I will answer them as they come up. I will also send a kit (plywood and bearings) to the winner.
Removable/twisting top part design for refillable 2 in 1 botlle
The bottle will have 2 chambers. At the top of the bottle 2 dispensing caps marked (1) of the type that is attached on a separate picture. The bottle is refillable and for easy refill the top part marked (2) will be either completely taken off or twisted sideways being attached at the centre somehow. The top part must sit on the bottle very tight so no liquid can leak outside or from chamber to chamber. We are looking for the best solution how the top part can be attached to the bottle.
