Could you tell us a bit about the type of the connection cable? What type or diameter will be used? What about the size of the enclosure especially the height. Should it look more futuristic, modern, tech? Who will by this product (age, gender, etc)
HI Szilveszter - I&;m not sure how to reword - this... I don&;t want to see any screws from the front for the enclosure - take a look at the Open EVSE reference enclosure providing in the project description.... whatever method is used to connect the front to the back, I don&;t want it to be visible externally.
Hi Kurt,
What do you mean by that?
"Also, there should be no screws visible on the front of the enclosure - the front part of the enclosure needs to be connected to the backplate from behind."
Regards,
Szilveszter
For this application, flammability will need to be UL-94V-0 which is what the current ML58 Polycase supports, IP-67 or better (waterproof, outdoors, direct sun), and I’m not sure about impact testing.
Unfortunately, the CC platform does not let me redistribute the first prize once the competition has started. I can add more prize money, but I&;m not inclined to do that. Bear in mind that I&;m not expecting detailed CAD designs to be considered as a finalist.
I hadn&;t thought of offering multiple prizes. Is this the norm? I must say that if it is I would&;ve expected that whomeever from CadCrowd reviewing the submission would&;ve mentioned it. I haven&;t used this platform before; CC takes 20% of the money I pre-paid, and took another $80 for a review before it became live. What&;s the point of the review if good practice isn&;t highlighted. On the other hand, paying for design files I don&;t want seems odd too. That being said, I&;m more than happy to redistribute the prize money across 3 awards if that is good practice on CC. Maybe the selection process should have multiple rounds with basic sketches (which shouldn&;t involve much of a time commitment) being submitted for Round 1, and then Round 2 is where 2-3 &;pre-designs&; are selected for further development.
Very interesting project, thanks Kurt !
Maybe you should split the prize to get 3 winners, it will be more motivating for us and I am sure that you will get better results at the end :)
Hi, I have a few questions. Are you looking for a plastic injection molded enclosure for electronics similar form factor to what you posted? What are the requirements for this housing IP rating, flammability rating, impact testing ETC? Do you want the housing to be easily taken apart and if so how many times will you rate it to be assembled ?
