Description:
I have designed an unusual house. Ive had it professionally designed and drawn in 2D and have the files in .dwg and .dxf. For my own purposes (non commercial), id like to view it in 3D. i need the file in a format that i can view in 3D in any free 3D viewing software.
Wants:
features, colours, extras over and above what i am actually looking for will be highly favoured. ive attached a pdf of one of the drawings and can provide further information upon request - including existing 3D software of structural components that i have copied.
Don't Wants:
i dont need furniture, doors or windows or any 'fancy' things. I just want the structure. i want to be able to move through and around the house in the 3D sphere and be able to show builders and other trades the concept for quoting purposes.
Ask for Sample:
I dont need a sample. I think it is a reasonably easy project for someone who knows what they are doing (or even a student looking to sharpen their skills).
Software:
- Any that i can view in a freeware 3d program.

Discussion
Hi - thank you but can you save it in a version other than Revit - i cant open it. Google Sketchup works and DWG trueview works.

Addition
We’re looking to do a small, 10x16, two story addition on the corner of our house. Both rooms will be used as bedrooms, and layout would be identical. We’re thinking 16 ft portion will be sidewalls, with 2 windows (no more than 28” wide) equally spaced. The 10 ft portion would be front and back wall. We would like the entire back wall to be a 2-2.5ft deep closet for both rooms. The entrance from existing house would run from 5ft to 8ft. I’ll attach a rough drawing for a better visualization. There is a tree in one of the pictures that has yet to be taken down. The red lines in the pictures represent the 10 ft width where the addition would attach. Thank you

Give my house a Modern / Contemporary look!
We would like to change the exterior of our home. Currently, it is brown wood siding and which we do not like. The wood is difficult to maintain especially with all the wildlife. We are going for a modern, contemporary feel. Feel free to use google sketchup, sketch on top of, or photoshop the supplied photos of my home. This can be considered a ‘concept’ phase to determine colors, texture and overall shape.
Project Details: Add some sort of overhang over the front door. Maybe extend it toward the garage and think of a clean way to support the overhang. We are going to completely redo the front steps and entry so the silly deck can go. Feel free to be creative.
Notes:
1) Our trees leave lots of seeds, sap, etc. So in general, lots of white may not be a good idea.
2) Feel free to leave out the window in the basement next to the small front porch. It may or may not be shown in my images. I plan to remove this basement window.
3) I could go slightly larger for windows by extending them down toward the floor. I would prefer to keep the window widths the same, but increase the height by adding to the bottom. If making the windows longer helps your design, do it. Keeping them the same size is ok too.
Attached are some examples of homes that caught my eye. Hope this gives a sense of colors textures and the feel that I’m after.
Project deliverable: Create a computer generated sketch, or good hand sketch to visually show how the home would look.
