Description:
Packing glass-containers for transportation is usually done palletized by using plastic layer pads in-between the glass containers and on top by using a cover with is called TOP CAP.
Until now the TOP CAP which is used almost only is made from cardboard.
As the actual cardboard-TOP-CAP is a one-time-use packing, we are looking for an alternative design to replace this cardboard TOP CAP by a

Hi there,

I have seen your content and would love to have a go at providing a solution. Before I begin, would you be free for a quick Zoom call? I have a few questions about the application as well as the quantities you are looking to manufacture these in and want to be on the same page.

Hello Chaniago
Very good questions!
The material of the new TOP CAP has to be washable, re-usable, recyclable and food-safe. For sure plastic. We would prefer Polypropylene.
The dimension of the bottles is very difficult to answer as there are all kind of bottles and glass-containers possible. So this is not made for one specific but one TOP CAP to cover all!
Yes, for sure there is a potential budget per TOP CAP which was not mentioned as we not wanted to limit the ideas for now. Just for your information, the price should be less than 20,-- € per TOP CAP.
Thank you for your questions. If there are more, please let me know.
Greetings :)

Hi...Dear

This is a very interesting project and after reading and reviewing this project there are a few things I want to ask:
1. Can we change the material from the current one or do you have a replacement material reference from your customer? because this usually arises from customer complaints
2. Can you share the details of the dimensions of the bottles you produce?
3. Is the new design for this top cap focused on the budget? Or can you tell us how much the estimated budget is? Because the design will be greatly affected by the budget

Thankyou
Regards
Chaniago

Hi Bhavik Mistry
Thank you for all your comments.
You are correct, the TOP CAP is moved by an automatc pick and place to the glass containers and moved away while unloading from the palett again by an automized pick and place.
For your comment that the folding behaviour" will be the same for all TOP CAPs due to an automized handling, I&;m not convinced especially regarding the Nylon straps.
Let me have look for the details and I&;ll come back to you later. Meanwhile, please have a look to the patents I added to the attachments as well.
Greetngs :)

Dear CARTONPLAST,

I would like to share few more points regarding your concern about flap degree,

1). As you can seen in the 3D model I had shared, I designed hinge in such a way that center of Gravity of the flap is right side of the axis of hinge , so it will open perfectly 90 degree without a drought.

2). Hinge design allows the side flap to completely touch with the glass bottles when shrink wrap so that it will not move during transportation.

Thanks,
Bhavik Mistry

Dear Sir/Ma&;am,

Thanks for your valuable feedback,
1).
Given concept was based on some assumption,
When Top cap is lifted by Robotic arm/Any mechanism , it will remain parallel to the ground . I have designed hinge mechanism in such a way that their will be very less friction so that it will open due to its self weight.
(i tried to make the design simple and with less complicated components. we can use 90&; spring if top cap will be operated in fully automation environment.)

2).
Sir, if it will be handle by robot than the nature of folding will remain the same for all the TOP CAP. on the other hand, if it will be handle by human we can incorporate STOPPER BOSS(Emboss Surface at bottom side. which height will be more than total folded strap to avoid leaning tower.)

Thanks!

Hello Bhavik Mistry
Thank you for submitting the idea. I do like the approach.
May I guideline a little and ask some questions:
How do you insure the side flaps will open up for 90° by gravity and do not end at 70°? This would cause to kick off bottles while the TOP CAP is positioned at the end of the palletizing.
How does the nylon straps fold when the TOP CAPs are stacked? If this folding is not controlled you will get a "leaning tower".
It would be very interesting as well to get some detailed information about the hinge you wanted to implement.
Greetings :)

Hi anshul
Basically I do agree for the reuseablilty of blister-packagings.
If I got you right you wanted to implement the glass-container-pattern for the palletized glass containers into the blister packaging.
Give me an idea, how many different pattern do you expect to be created?
Greetings :)

Hello CARTONPLAST, Very interesting project thanks for hosting,
Regarding comment from studio701, Prepaid contest will attract top designers and combined everyone will submit unique concepts that you will not regret making contest prepaid otherwise less designers will take part. This because many contest holders don,t give results just take designs submitted after contest is over.

Design for mini-WiFi Router - Product in Big Box Retail Q1 2016
This project is for a small WiFi router plastic injection mold that needs to look like a "shield". The PCB (circuit board) is: 2.5 inches in length 1.5 inches in width .5 (half an inch) at its highest point We have included three screenshots of the current injection mold which needs to be redesign. These are JUST for reference to see what the current plastic mold looks like: current-injection-mold-1.jpg current-injection-mold-2.jpg current-injection-mold-3.jpg We have also included a screenshot of the PCB (circuit board) titled: pcb-1.jpg Please note that on that pcb-1.jpg screenshot there are two antennas or wires with green rectangles. Those will be "stuffed" into the mold and have no requirements as far as plastic pieces that need to house or hold them. We will just be pushing them into the hollow area of the mold between the PCB and plastic. What we are trying to do is change our current mold into a plastic shield. Our request is to have a plastic "shield" designed that can house the PCB. This may require the design of the shield to be thicker in height to properly hold the PCB. What we are looking for is AutoCAD design comps of what the new injection mold could look like as a shield, using the very basic dimensions we have outlined above. In regards to the design, we have attached a PDF titled: concept-shield-spec-sheet.pdf This is a VERY basic spec sheet and "concept" design of a shield that we created in house. You do not need to make the design look exactly like this. This spec sheet is just "ideas" we had for a design that would look like a shield and fit the PCB. Designers have full creative freedom to come up with some designs that fit the PCB. We have attached four screenshots of shield designs we like from a company called Vmoda: http://v-moda.com/over-ear-shields/ On that link, the designer can find MANY more ideas on shields V-moda's website all of which we like. Please note that V-moda is just an example of shield designs we like. We know they are a headphone company and have nothing to do with us other than we like their designs. The screenshots are titled: shield-ideas-1.jpg shield-ideas-2.jpg shield-ideas-3.jpg shield-ideas-4.jpg We LOVE these designs and think they could easily work with our PCB which would be underneath the shield. Designers have creative freedom when it comes to the texture on top of the shield, color and most everything else. If the designer so desires, we would even be open to adding additional "non-plastic" elements to the shield design such as "chrome inlays" or "metal edging" etc. This is not a requirement. We just want everyone to know that they can add other materials to the design if they think it will really make the product standout. We do also ask that the designer incorporates our logo into the design of the shield. Our logo is attached in both PSD and PNG format and titled: abox.png abox.psd If there are any questions, please don't hesitate write us. Thanks!
Build me a Funky, Cool design for our new sensors
We are coming up with new sensors that we would be installing in gym equipment. We want it to look innovative – that with just one look of our sensors, our brand will be recognized. Besides having an innovative design, we need a wifi logo – or any design showing that the sensor works via wifi/online, and our logo, GYMetrix, should be part of the sensors’ design. We have also attached the holes needed for the sensor to work (colored blue and green on the attached design of our current sensors). The holes have to be in place and can’t be moved. They should be carefully integrated in the design – which is the big part of the challenge. Think out of the box! *Always refer to the files attached for reference. We have added more information regarding the design we need: Color: If possible, the bottom part of the sensor is a different color from the top. So that we can differentiate from the top and bottom part. We have attached an ideal bottom part background we have in mind. Surface: - Bottom surface have to be flat where the blue holes indicated should be. - Top Surface can be anything. Use your imagination! (Like the beacon image attached). - We need one side to be flat. We need this to put stickers for inventory purposes. - One side needs to have the green hole. - The rest, you can use your creativity! Size: Current size of our sensors is 7.3cm x 3.4cm x 2.8cm. Don’t be limited with the current dimensions, you can make it slightly bigger to accommodate your new design. However, make sure the placement of the holes needed should still be in place. Holes: The blue holes indicated in the diagram, is part of the bottom part. Please see attached image “sensor design-holes needed” and other files for reference. The purpose of the 2 holes is where we can (1) turn the sensor on or off and (2) where the light indicator will be. Total number of holes: 3 File types needed: - STEP (.stp) - SolidWorks (.sldprt) - ProE (.prt) - Parasolid (.x_t and .x_b) - ACIS (.sat) - AutoCAD (.dwg, 3D Only) - Autodesk Inventor (.ipt)
Home Automation casing
We are looking for sleek or a very sexy casing for Home automation device that can add beauty to your house along with making your day to day life easy. We want out of the box thinking, not just any enclosure. The logo will be Maestro, the designer can create it with no limitation for your imaginations. Attached is a pdf file with full requirements and description.

3D logo figure
We are an internet company from Serbia and the market leader in classifieds portals. We would like to 3D print our logo (we already have a 3D printer - LulzBot TAZ Mini), to be used as a gift for our clients and other marketing purposes. We need the creative solution for a 3D model of our logo. Here are the details: - our logo represents a running man with an "@" instead of a head. We have the logo in 2D, and it should be converted to 3D - we want to have some moving parts on the 3D model (hands, legs, head - we're open to suggestions based on what is possible) - the model should be no more than 10cm in height - we need a .stl file for printing
