camalapse mini
We are looking to add another product to our successful camalapse 4 product offering. The camalapse mini will operate using a similar internal mechanical/spring wound timer that is in the regular camalapse 4 (camalapse.com) but it will not have a female tripod mount on the bottom and instead of a male 1/4 20" male post on the top, it will need a feature/mechanism to hold a smartphone securely in place. The overall concept of this device is to operate exactly like the camalapse, but to be as small as a form factor as possible (fit safely into a small purse or large cargo pocket) as the target market is entirely focused on smartphones. At a minimum, the smartphone holder needs to hold the smartphone with a variety of thicknesses (with and without cases) in landscape mode at a 90 degree angle from the horizontal top surface of the camalapse mini. Bonus if the smartphone holder can also achieve a 45 degree angle. Big bonus if the smartphone holder is able to hold the smartphone at any angle but the mechanism to do so is simple and easy to manufacture. We will need to build a complete prototype, and will probably use shapeways to print all plastic parts so we will need files from the winner that can be used for 3D printing (during contest) and later for injection molds (after prototypes are successful). If metal parts are needed for concept, please advise where they can be purchased in small quantity online with links. The design does not need to mimic the octagonal shape of the camalapse 4, but some element of design carry over would be nice as this will be an additional product that we will want to leverage the success of the camalapse 4. We say this because the octagonal shape creates a larger form factor which we are trying to avoid.

We have included many pictures of the timer mechanism which the camalapse mini needs to be built around. We have added dimensions as best that we could. Please ask if you need more. Individual questions will be answered both individually and for the group.
Skin Care Brush
I'm seeking a CAD designer/firm for a skin care brush. Below are it's requirements:
1. a two-three piece mold in which the parts join (snap, insert, interlock, etc).
2. top portion part is a more flexible durometer and the bottom portion/handle part is a firm plastic durometer.
3. a clean, minimalist design (visual references can be provided)
- brush body must conform to body areas shapes: legs, armpits, bikini zone, under neck/chin
- brush handle must be ergonomic to right/left handed
4. additional info as well as pencil & vector sketches can be provided for later stages
5. No need to design the brush bristles (already have these) so main focus is on body and how the two durometers are joined
6. I will need at least (3) three designed options to pick from and prototype.
Am I Safe to Get a Haircut
In the coming months as US businesses open up, this does not guarantee people will come. We are seeing this in some of the EU countries. The streets are still close to empty.
Small one-on-one businesses need a way to “demonstrate” to their customers that they will be “safe”.
When you turn it on, this “box on wheels” will make the small room “negative” with respect to the other rooms or WRT the hallway. This guarantees that anything bad in that room stays in that room. It does this because inside is a small blower. The inlet of the blower is “in the room” and the outlet of the blower goes out the window This causes the room to “go negative” WRT adjacent rooms or hallway. If you were to put a small string under the door, you would see the string being “pulled into the room”. This “box on wheels” also filters the air that passes thru it using a HEPA filter. Then a small UV lamp is trained on this HEPA filter and the UV light kills the virus.
Invisible suspenders | Prize includes royalties
Looking to create a new type of consumer accessory that serves the same function as suspenders, but designed in a way that allows the accessory to remain unseen.
The idea is to help consumers keep their pants up, without the use of traditional over-the-shoulder suspenders, and as a bonus, possibly also help keep shirts tucked.
The article (link below) covers the topic and shares some existing market solutions, none of which are consumer friendly enough.
https://undershirtguy.com/flat-butt-how-to-keep-your-pants-from-falling-down/
The material used in this new suspender-alternative accessory has to be somewhat soft and body friendly, since it will likely come in contact with the skin.
With that in mind, I am initially thinking this could be made of a rubber type of material, or possibly a blend of silicone and santoprene. However, let's not restrict the idea to only that material category, if you think something else will written better.
One possible design solution is two-part product:
1. one that sits on the inside of the shirt or undershirt, that has a protrusion, and
2. a fastener that attaches on the outside of the shirt or undershirt to lock the accessory to the shirt or undershirt.
In the concept above, the accessory assembly essentially creates a subtle ridge that the pants waistline can rest on, possibly with the assistance of a belt.
The one potential drawback to the above design, is that the consumer must either wear their shirt tucked in, or wear an undershirt. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind.
Another possible direction would be to have the accessory attach to the pants inside waistline somehow, and be made from a material that has enough height and grip with the skin or underwear to prevent the pants from sliding down. Though, the solution would have to be as reliable as suspenders.
The accesory should be super simple to use, and also be removable and reusable, like suspenders.
Clean, simple, friendly. Think Apple simple and clean, Sonos, Simple Human.
As part of this contest, should this product be brought to market, I am creating an additional financial incentive of a limited royalty agreement that will be split between Cad Crowd and the designer.
The proposed, and Cad Crowd approved, limited royalty structure royalty would be $0.50 usd per unit-assembly sold (50/50 split between Cad Crowd and the winning designer) for the first 10,000 pieces sold.
Money Storage Bank Bins for Kids
Hi, I am looking for some design ideas for a money storage bank bin for kids. It's a different twist to the traditional piggy banks. I will eventually need to create a 3D CAD of this so that I can create a prototype for it. It will need to have 3 bins designated with 1) Save 2) Spend 3) Share. I envision the approx size of the container to be 5x7x2, clear, that opens up with an attached lid, and on the outside, will be a ledger where it will be used to track withdrawls and deposits. These 3 containers will then need to be placed into a larger single container. Easy for kids to open, close and carry.
