Description:
I have two simple spur gears that I want design a lock mechanism for them. The lock shall be engaged with one of these two spur gears and prevent rotation in both directions (both CW and CCW). The lock mechanism shall be triggered easily with a signal or a servo or similar method upon the request of operator to lock gears. The lock mechanism should be able to released easily and with simplicity.
Wants:
Simplicity and effectiveness as well as showing the functionality (locking one of the gears in both directions that also locks the other gear).

: the third gear, which engages with the other two, which are in joint engagement, tightly blocks the entire mechanism.
With this solution, we minimize all the loads that fall on the locking mechanism.
With this solution, we evenly distribute the load on all three gears.
The stop gear moves along its own splined shaft in the axial direction. Alternatively, the locking device may be integral with the shaft and move with the shaft in the axial direction.
It remains for us to add a feed mechanism for this gear. It can be an electromagnetic solenoid controlled from a button or from a controller, an eccentric or any other option.
We can also make this mechanism spring loaded or bi-directional. To do this, you need to understand the whole structure as a whole.

Attachment is added. To be clear, gears are on separate shafts (each gear has its own shaft being supported by two bearings)
In fact I am looking for a general gear lock solution that can be adaptable to two spur gears that each rotating on a shaft. dimensions and gear specifications are not very important in this stage. Feel free to pick any to spur gears of your choice. As I want to keep the lock mechanism simple, I prefer to avoid a third gear, but feel free to offer your solution. Of course that in this gear mechanism, one gear is larger than the other and I prefer to have the lock mechanism to be engaged on the smaller gear. In the attachment I have included a sample gears which are close to my application (i.e. one is much larger than the other). Please let me know if you need more information.

The go kart element can be quite simplistic, as long as it is functional but will need to be as quiet as possible to allow for good audio quality during filming.
If you would be willing to take up this project for our company we would appreciate if you could provide me insights as to how you would go about doing this (rough steps) and what quote you would estimate inclusive of materials and labour (if you unsure of an exact cost could you please provide me with a range of what would be the lowest and highest price charged for this project). If the bed car is functional we would be more than willing to promote your work in the description of our video.
Alternatively if you believe it would be more cost efficient and practical would you be willing to make the bed car that was shown in the video, if you believe it would be functional and if you could provide a quote for the materials and labor for this project.
