The client can limit your total billable hours for an hourly job contract within a weekly billing period. The client can modify the hourly maximum, and both parties will agree to the limit before starting a new contract. The limit on work hours lets the client define the tasks and budget expected budget before the work begins.
- Limits: The ability to establish or modify a limit rests solely with the client, but the client and the expert need to discuss the anticipated number of hours for the hourly job contract.
- Billable hours: You can only invoice for hours inside the contract’s weekly billing limit set by a client. The Payment Security policy safeguards hours logged with the timer app and does not exceed the weekly limit. Hours exceeding the contract’s limit will not be invoiced with the payment system.
- Bonus payments: When needed, the client can send a bonus payment for hours worked that exceed the weekly limits (at their discretion).

The client will value your proactive communication and can decide if the weekly time limit should be increased. You will receive an email notification if your client increases the weekly limit for an hourly job contract. The change is made in real time when a client increases your hourly contract limit (you can resume billable hours immediately). The client can also decrease the weekly billable limit. You will see an error message in the Timer app if you attempt to log additional hours that exceed the maximum billable hours for an hourly contract.
Note: The week’s billing period for hourly job contracts starts on Monday at 12:00 a.m. and ends Sunday at 11:59 p.m. (UTC timezone). You can resume work the following Monday if you reach the maximum number of hours for the weekly billing period.
