About the job
We are looking for a highly creative and talented product engineer with CAD and 2D/3D modeling expertise to bring our unique dog toy concept to life. This modular, enrichment-focused, treat-dispensing toy will feature DIY frozen treats, chew-resistant materials, and swappable parts that owners can customize based on their dog’s needs. If you’re passionate about pet products and innovative design, we want to hear from you!
Project Scope
1. Initial Design & Conceptualization
- Develop a clear vision for the toy’s shape, treat-dispensing mechanics, and modular attachments.
- Collaborate on overall shape design, treat cavities & develop modular pieces/locking mechanism that are chew-safe
2. Detailed CAD/3D Modeling
- Create 2D/3D technical drawings
- Include design features that address engagement, durability, and user-friendly operation
3. Prototype Evaluation
- Review and refine design based on chew tests, treat-dispensing trials, and user feedback
4. Future Modularity & Expansion
- Suggest how additional puzzle modules, alternate attachments, or treat insert shapes could plug into the same universal system
Key Deliverables
- 3D CAD Files (STEP, STL, or preferred format) ready for prototyping/manufacturing
- 2D Technical Drawings (dimensions, thickness, material specs)
- Locking Mechanism plan/diagram suitable for chew resistance
- Bonus points for: Material Specification recommendations (rubber hardness, fillers, etc.)
