Project Overview:
We are seeking a Design for Manufacturing (DFM) specialist to refine our prototype for the SoundWave, an interactive audio-visual wearable designed for sports fans and event-goers. The wristband synchronises LED lights and audio playback, creating an immersive experience.
We have an STL 3D model and early prototypes but require DFM expertise to optimise the design for mass production, cost efficiency, and compliance.
Scope of Work & Deliverables
✅ DFM-Optimised Design
Finalise technical drawings and CAD files for manufacturing.
Ensure the design is optimised for injection molding, PCB integration, and assembly.
Select materials for the wristband (silicone, LED module, speaker, battery, etc.).
✅ Manufacturing Feasibility & Cost Reduction
Suggest design modifications to lower production costs while maintaining quality.
Ensure design is scalable for mass production with minimal assembly complexity.
✅ Bill of Materials (BOM) & Component Sourcing
Provide a detailed BOM with supplier recommendations.
Identify cost-effective alternatives for key components.
Establish a realistic manufacturing budget & minimum order quantity (MOQ).
✅ Compliance & Testing Readiness
Ensure the design meets CE, RoHS, and child safety certifications.
Address battery safety, durability, and environmental compliance.
