I've worked in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering for the past 20+ years. I'm currently an architectural designer but also do product design, civil design, as well as furniture/interior design. Architecture (software - Auto Cad, Revit, and Chief Architect): I've design residential houses using CMU block (Florida) and also using conc. poured basement foundations with framed walls (BC, Canada). I have also designed houses with ICF construction and know current architectural standards and building codes (IRC, BCBC, CBC, etc.). A lot of the current styles I design are modern, craftsman, and Mediterranean style houses. Mechanical Engineering (software - Solid Works): I've worked several years in the mechanical design field and have worked with gears, flanges, piping, plenums, sheet metal, CNC programming, and welding/bending/tolerances. Product Design (software - Auto CAD 3D & Solid Works): I've done some work with product design, have read and researched ways products are manufactured, and have designed improvements on current product trends. Plastic molds are a dominant feature for product design and knowing your type of plastic and its use play major roles during the design process. I have 8 years of design experience in Start-up environments. I have been using Solidwork for 15 years now, both in and out of college, and I have my own copies of both SolidWorks Premium and SolidWorks Simulation Pro. This allows me to not only design a full CAD model but also perform FEA simulations to determine strength. I also have 5 years of hands on manufacturing experience where I not only designed equipment but would then build it myself. This ranged from hydraulic power sources to welding robots to large scale, high precision welding jigs and this has given me a unique understanding into how to design things so they can also be built easily. I can do basic CAD models based off of sketches and return to you any part files you may need such as STEP, DXF, DWG or anything else needed for manufacturing purposes. I can also do ground up design of a project from just a basic concept including all engineering work and part sourcing. I am very detailed in my work and always try to find the best possible solution to the problem at hand as quickly as possible. I design with both the final assembly and aesthetics in mind to insure that the final product goes together smoothly and looks as good as it functions. I have 6+ years of experience designing industrial equipment, structural assemblies and weldments, agricultural and automotive parts, and everything in between.
