Description:
Objective is to construct and replicate (to a high degree of accuracy) the experimental compressive test results for a foam specimen in Abaqus. Please find the attached file with the product dimensions and experimental test data. Upon the succesful completion of this project, additional work will be granted to the designer. We will require the Abaqus project file with the stress strain plots to ensure that the project tasks have been met.
Wants:
Accuracy of model results to actual experimental test results and the speed of which we recieve the submissions from different designers (i.e. speed and accuracy is key).
Don't Wants:
I don't want a model that does not work ;-) I also do not want a one time designer, I am looking for designers who can demonstrate highly accurate results and are willing to take on further work after this project.
Ask for Sample:
As for a sample we would require screenshots of the Abaqus model stress strain test results and a side by side comparison of the experimental data (provided in the attached file) and the Abaqus data (graphs and data tables)
Software:
  1. Abaqus
  2. ANSYS
  3. Siemens NX (Unigraphics)

Dimension is in mm, Force can be found... , four cycles of loading and unloading, take test 1 preferrably!
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 08:30:00 +0000
why is there four set of test? are you looking at the average for extracting material property?
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 08:29:38 +0000
Helo Sir,

Dimension of object is in mm or cm?
Sat, 31 Dec 2016 07:49:43 +0000
how much force needs to be applied

As he mentioned it is allowed to use any software. But the problem with Solidworks is that it can&;t read more than 200 points for stress-strain curve to make a material properties profile. It will turn out to be inaccurate. I suppose that the proper way is to look for foam material mathematical model which has all poisson ratio, shear modulus, compression, tension and so on then numerically solve it. Make approximate fitting curve for the experimental data provided. Then fine tune the properties.

Anyway its long journey unless someone has more sophisticated tool to quickly read data and extract the relevant details. But I&;m skeptical that solidworks can do it.

That was my opinion, though I may try it out. Not really sure where I can end up.:D

can we use Catia or SolidWorks?

Thats correct, the material properties would then be used as input for the model.

Seems you want to extract material properties of the foam? Am I getting it right?

Not compulsory, you can try it out in Ansys or any other software of your choosing

Can we use another software for simulation?
Fri, 30 Dec 2016 12:05:51 +0000
is it compulsory to model it in abaqus? I can do it in ansys

Shoe Shine Box
I am looking to have a ShoeShine Box Designed. This project is unique in that I am not providing any specs for the box size and design. I am providing you with the products that will be in the ShineBox and several features that need to be incorporated into the design. I require a 3D renderings of the design. The renderings need to show the final design from all sides. Keep in mind, this is a product that will be manufactured. This design requires out of the box thinking. While the Shinebox needs to be functional and sturdy, I need to really emphasize the importance of the look and design of the box. I want it to be a functional piece of art. Just imagine Apple creating a ShineBox. I want the design to be as compact as it can be and still incorporate the required products and features. I am open to any material, except wood. I was thinking steel or brushed aluminum design. The required features: 1)The ShineBox will need to have a plate that can be turned 360 degrees and quickly locked into place. Users will put their shoes on the plate to clean them. 2) The cleaning products will be liquid and the liquid will be applied and used with the shoe brush (see attached picture). The liquid will need a rectangular box, bigger than the brush, to hold a couple ounces of cleaner. The rectangular holder needs to be easily removed for cleaning. 3) A carrying handle. I want the carrying handle disguised so as not to be seen when not in use. Here are the cleaning products that will be in the ShineBox (pictures are attached). 1) 4 - 6 oz. Boston Round Glass Bottles Height 5", Diameter 2.1" 2) 3 Shoe Brushes - Length 3 1/4", Width 1", Height 1 1/4" 3) 1 Mid Sole Brush - Length 5 1/2", Width 1/2", Height 1" 4) 1 Suede Bar - Length 3", Width 1", Height 1". 5) a 12" x 12" Micro Fibre towel. This can obviously folded to fit into a smaller space. I don't care what software is used, but I do want a hyper-realistic 3D rendering.
Keycap Design-Creativity and CAD skill needed
Hello I am looking for someone to design something for me, and possibly cast it in resin or other materials for me. For the designing part, you need to know how to model something in CAD and have a file that can be 3D printed. What you are designing requires creativity, and is a mix of art and practicality. What I am looking for is someone who can make a keycap for mechanical keyboards. At the end is some examples of competitors work, so you can get a feel for what I'm looking for. I am looking for original designs that are extremely creative. As for the next steps, I need someone who can make a mold of a 3D printed prototype, and then cast it in resin. For the resin casting, it has to be 1:1 or very close to 1:1 as the final product requires very fine detail and dimensions to properly fit. I am looking for different and fancy colors. If you just know how to use CAD, that's fine, I'll hire you for just that part. If you just know how to cast pieces, that's also fine, and please message me with details. If you just know CAD, then I will pay $300 for a creative design in a 3D printable file format. If you know how to cast resin, then for the initial run, I am looking to purchase 20 each of up to 5 different colors of the same design, for 100 total units. For the units, I will pay $5 per, or $500 for 100 units. If I like the quality, then I will hire you again for many, many more projects. Here are some examples of what competitors are making, I am looking for something generally similar, but original and creative designs. http://www.kultkaps.bigcartel.com/ https://bingecap.com/product-category/archive/ http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,cherrymxkeys&pid=cf5f_sku_3blk $300 will be awarded to the best 3D design, and $200 will be awarded to the second best 3D design. If you can cast the design in resin, please let me know and we will do the order separately.
The Mother Load
Hi talented designers – I need your help turning my idea into a more professional prototype. I would like to design a cushion or chair support to help women who have just delivered a baby naturally to sit and rest in a chair more comfortably. Sitting in a traditional chair is very painful because the new mom’s entire rear end is healing. An ideal design would enable a woman to rest or sit without having contact on any part of her rear end. Ideally it would be adjustable to fit in most chairs, it would be especially helpful for driving or riding in a car. It also should be something with simple lines that can be mass produced for a reasonable cost. I have a homemade prototype of a support, which works okay, but it needs your help! I will also attach a picture of a booster seat with a design that I really like for reference. A larger version of this booster seat, but with the cushion part of the seat modified, might do the trick! Of course I welcome any other creative designs that you might have. Having a newborn is so exhausting and having a comfortable seat that keeps pressure off of parts that are healing would be a great relief! Future moms will thank you for your creative ideas and wonderful designs! Please let me know if you have questions. I am relying on you for recommendations as to software and materials.
3D Geometrical jewlery design
We would like to create distinct silver jewelry for mature and modern women (35-65 years) with taste for fine jewelry, which is minimal, modern and timeless. Icon: celebrating realistic animal figures made with repetitive geometric pattern like triangle, rhombus etc. similar to the Cartier panther ring in the project brief. 1st collection is featuring OWL. Setting: To achieve high jewelry look, use of Channel, Mystery setting and micro pave is highly encouraged. Size and dimensions: Use of OWL head should be between 20mm-45mm across different jewelry elements. Stone Size: As we use semi-precious stones there are no stone size limitations, This project is a test to select right candidates for our on-going long-term project. We welcome talented designers from across the world, but candidates with experience in Italian market would be preferred. Please align your sketch with us, before proceeding to 3D modeling. Files to be in STL and 3DM format.
