Description:
This contest is to create a NEW design for the Donkey Calf Raise attachment. The current design is good, but the manufacturing cost will be very expensive. It still should be able to attach to all smith machine barbell shafts 25mm to 35mm. The current design has too many components that make up the design. I need a new design that is sleek looking, but easier to manufacture. The new design should have a quick way to connect and disconnect the apparatus to a 25mm to 35mm diameter smith machine barbell shaft. The connecting and disconnecting method should be durable to withstand constant use. The device should be able to handle 1200 pounds.

Wants:
• Try and keep the same dimensions for the base plate that the pads will attach to.
• Make the complete design black in color.
• Make the design appealing to the eye.
• All hardware, bolts or material used in the design should be obtainable from any hardware store.
Don't Wants:
Do not change the overall design; just change the way it connects to the smith machine barbell
• We do not want overly complex designs that are difficult to manufacture. Keep it simple

Hello Sir,

This product seems very innovative and interesting. Your concern of manufacturing cost is valid because you have considered mostly in metals (Aluminium and steel). Rather than metals, this could be ergonomic, appealing and robust design in plastic very economical manufacturing cost. Looking at the application, plastic will be best suitable material. If you have already explored in plastic, please share your experience.

The designers from the first contest will be offered a second chance to develop their ideas. The two concepts in the design contest will be the: 1.) Amani Universe: This will be a luxury 4-door sedan with classic futuristic features. 2.) Amani Express: This will be a luxury coupe that will be the 2-door version of the Amani Universe. The renderings submitted will be used to help with presenting the concepts to potential customers in the luxury automobile market. The interior of the concepts should be included in the sketches and renderings. We will need to view the features that will make the vehicles a classic luxury brand. We will request that the designers include all dimensions of the exterior of the vehicles. These dimensions should be indicated on the orthogonal views (front, top, left side, and rear views).
