I have worked in the special equipment and design industry for 16 years. My career started at JBJ Products & Machinery, building machinery and tooling for the Plastics and Food/Beverage Industries. I've worked with machines & engines that have a terrible design for one reason; the designer has no clue what its like to work with the machine itself. For example, the design requires a 8 hour down period for a simple bearing replacement. Designs need to be user friendly, majority of engineers don't understand this concept.
