Oversaw multi discipline teams supplying specialist knowledge, solving problems and creating processes. Assisted in model change and updating of drawings ensuring all standards were met. Checked model and drawings, signing off change packs for submission. Created training guides and ran training courses to improve skills across the teams.
• Structural Designer Smulders UK · Self-employed Mar 2019 – Jun 2020 1 yrs 3 mos Wallsend, England, United Kingdom Worked on temporary steel and heavy lift plans for 55 offshore wind turbine triangular jackets ranging from 916Te to 1050Te for the Moray East Offshore Windfarm Project and two 265Te Transition Pieces for the Triton Knoll Offshore Windfarm Project.
  Arranging shops for transition pieces, jacket leg and cross brace fabrication, 2D/3D build areas for lower jacket assembly, jacket mating areas and jackets storage areas. Each area had 3D AutoCAD models produced helping to avoid any clashes while maximising use of limited space.
  Developing designs for heavy duty props, heavy lifting equipment, steel saddles, jacking frames, jacket mating walkways and hotbox welding platforms. Modelled a welding hotbox and produced fabrication drawings in Tekla.
  Heavy lifts included leg lifts, cross brace lifts, 2D to 3D roll ups, lower jacket horizontal lifts, lower jacket rotated horizontal lifts, jacket up-endings, lower jacket vertical lifts, upper jacket load-in lifts, mating lifts and full jacket load-out lifts.
• Structural Designer BAE SYSTEMS · Self-employed Sep 2016 – Mar 2019 2 yrs 6 mos Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Type 26 Frigate Project. Designing and modelling large seats for equipment. Took ownership of units modelling the structure within the units. Production of drawing outputs for numerous units including decks, bulkheads, final assembly drawings, unit link ups and nesting. Worked in the shell environment, adding preps/proud material to shell plates and bars. The drawing system used was Foran.
