EL Qawmiya Station -Greater Cairo Metro, Egypt :

    • Our mission is to provide the detailed design for EL Qawmiya over ground station
    • The station is an elevated structure that 144.0 m long and 18.50 m width.
    - The main structural statical system consists of 11 typical steel frames (rackets) shaped portal frame fixed by concrete piers by the mean of prestressed bars.
    - Concrete piers are Spaced with a distance equal to 14.40 m and each pier is supported on multiple piles foundation.
    - The steel racket will carry three levels (ticket level, under platform level, and platform level).
    - The viaduct is independent of the structural steel of the station and the typical isostatic span are supported every two columns with a typical span of 28.8 m length (26.7 m between bearings).
    -
    - The three levels are made of longitudinal welded I section beams supporting a concrete slab. The current height of I section beams is 700 mm for the ticket hall level, 630 mm for the under-platform level and 750 mm for the platform level.
    -
    - The longitudinal girders of the Ticket hall level are supported by the rackets with a current spacing of 1900 mm. The concrete slab of 175 mm thickness is a composite slab with profiled steel sheet
    -
    - The longitudinal girders of the Platform level and the Under-platform level are supported on transverse girders. These transverses girders are supported by the racket on one side and on columns on the other. As for the Ticket hall level, the floor between the girders is a composite slab with profiles steel sheet. For these two levels, the thickness of the slab is 150 mm.
