Product Engineer
My role as Product Engineer in a furniture company was focused on increasing the production and developing new products without compromising in the quality to provide with furniture high demanding clients; from furniture stores and individual customers to 5 star hotel owners, and attract new and high prestige clients. My main responsibilities were the development of furniture and other accessories such as cushions, covers etc. I used three different CAD software, depending on the type of work.
1. Solidworks, for designing solid furniture, for example tables, TV synthesis, cupboards etc and provide a rendered picture of the final product to the client. In addition, I provided a data sheet with dimensions, descriptions and all the required views to external colleagues that provided the company with the solid parts of the furniture.
2. AutoCAD, for drawing the top view of the clients’ place after given dimensions of their apartments, shops, exhibitions, cafe/restaurants, rooms etc and place and preview the final products in the space for any changes or additions before placing the order.
3. GoldenCAD, a CAD/CAM suite specialized in upholstery. The main functions were the conversion of actual photos into digital pattern to edit and smooth the shape, the design of new patterns that are required to complete a product, calculate the the amount of the required fabric with given dimensions and quantities of the products in such a way for minimum waste and finally to cut the patterns from the fabric connecting to a CNC Laser Machine of “Golden Jaguar”.
Moreover, I was responsible for updating the website with new photos that I edited in Photoshop CC and also create the new season catalogue of the company.
