Description:
The design requires a clean simple method with minimized parts and manufacturing costs. Product is low volume, 250 to 500 pieces per year. We are interested in minimizing capital tooling costs. Design challenge is to design a keyboard slide platform that sits at a 32.5 degree angle (see attached documents). Keyboard slide needs to easily lock in upward position when not in use, and needs to easily be released and slide downward when in use. The keyboard slide is on a cart platform, so when the cart is being moved around, if it gets bumped, we do not want the keyboard slide to dislodge and slip into the down position.
Wants:
* Minimized parts
* Clean aesthetic
* Smooth operation
Don't Wants:
Alot of visble sliding hardware. Design needs to be clean with minimized exposed hardware such as fasteners, draw slides, etc.
Software:
  1. SolidWorks (2013)
  2. IGES or STEP

What environment with the finished product be used? Hospital, office, factory, dental? This will dictate materials to be used.

Hi, what material do you plan to use to construct the assembly?

@ RickG,

Could you please elaborate a little?

a. What are the actual use / purposes of this item? What you will place on the top inclined surface and on the bottom flat surface?
b. You need only the sliding mechanism of key-board according to the attached item, or you need the whole things to design?
c. The whole things will be like a wheeled trolley or not?
d. What will be the materials of construction?

Regards,
Rupak B.

Large 3D bookshelf backstop
Inspired by the historical visual progression of mainboards, we are looking for an innovative design to use as the back of a large shelving unit. We are looking for a design to go in a display case. The display case will then be used as a holder for glass shelves. Think of it almost like a glass bookshelf. Except, instead of the back being a cheap piece of board held on with tack nails like a shelf from IKEA, the back will be the design you come up with. Dimensions: 8ft wide 3ft high 1-3in deep The case is being used to display tech items. So we would like the design to reflect technology. Think mother board but on our scale. The original thought was to collect old motherboards, including ram and cpus. We were then going to lay them out on a 8x3 piece of plywood and glue them. Instead of this, we now want to get a design that a CNC machine can make. Material used: Wood and old metal. The design should induce a feeling of technological progression. So from left to right the design should transition from old circuit board tech, to current tech, to possible future tech (this part is open for interpretation) As an example, in the attached picture, the green part is what we want to replace with our 3D circuit board idea. Please note that the picture is just one from google and does not represent the actual shelf we are building The entire shelf will sit on top of a table, meaning that it will be at eye level for the average person.
arcylic box
End product is a flat pack clear (acrylic box) - without one side. 5 clear plastic sheets snap together to make a box without any tools and for it to be fairly easy to assemble and dismantle but when assembled for it to remain sturdy. Thickness of plastic sheet 3mm+ L50cm x H50cm x W50cm for box approx
create a parametric CAD model
I have a 3d model of an upright that was produced using topology optimisation software. The optimised model provided must be used as a guide to create a parametric CAD model. The optimised solution will be provided as a solid works file and I will require the finished CAD model as a SolidWorks file. I will also provide the original upright design so that you can use it as a reference when creating the new design I will need the job done by the 15th of october
Medical Bin & Cover Re-design
Redesign of our medical storage bins and cover access methods. The overall industrial and mechanical design initiative should explore new methods and ways to reduce lid opening space. (See attached document for full details.)
SuperSuv to be hand built for personal use
Off/On Road Super SUV, 3 seater Central driving position like a Mclaren. Rear engined, removable roof which when not in use goes over engine bay. 26 inch rims. Very clean lines. Will use donor lights (pictures included in files). Car must be dramatic with very clean simple lines. Interior must be very simple and clean lines. I have uploaded many files for inspiration. Countach for rear. Corvette for door treatment. White lotus for air vents. Diablo for roof and body lines.
